Since AI is the 8th wonder of the world

Why doesn’t Blizzard just plug all the old code into AI and just fix all the bugs?

In couple hours or less everything should be fixed.

If they did that, the best case scenario would be you click “play” on battle.net and your printer starts up and spits out a piece of paper that says “Hello World”

Worst case scenario you click play and your printer fires up and doesn’t stop firing out fully spammed pages of goodbye suckers as every electronic weapon is forcibly launched.

Because AI sucks for code generation. I have been using GitHub copilot and what it suggests is wrong most of the time and when it’s right it’s either not optimized or not secure or both.

AI at best is just a slight speed boost as it’s faster for me to fix it than type it fully. But I would not want it in the hands of a junior dev who may not be able to spot the bad stuff.

Not to mention everything that goes into AI is ingested by it and it doesn’t care that it’s proprietary information. Samsung had some code leaked by using it and has since greatly restricted it’s use.

Your name makes this suggestion so much better. Just an older dude who doesn’t understand how technology works. I can just picture an older gentlemen at the keyboard, yelling at it to do something.

“Why won’t you print?! There’s paper in your tray, I hit the PrtScn button! Print damn you! Typewriters were so much more reliable!”
