Last night Shroud’s Level 100 Hardcore Druid died after briefly lagging out of the game.
As much as I’d want to try hardcore, I don’t think I’d ever would with a game that requires online play, even hardcore wow

Yeah HC is asking for me to baby rage if the servers cost me a character.
Good in theory but with Blizzard server issues not advisable.
I’m not built for HC, I’m already clumsy IRL.
I’ve been reading about the stability issues causing HC players problems.
It’s hard to believe it’s 2023, and servers are still this ancient tech artifact we need for a smooth gaming experience.
Hurry up and reverse engineer all these UFO’s we just heard about.
Oh nooooooo.
Anyway…
Shroud is just the icebreaker,
the obvious main topic is attempting to play hardcore on unstable servers that will occasionally come across disconnects due to the server and not the player’s internet.
I think there’s an auto rollback when servers go boom, no? At least, that is what happened to me last night during the server issues.
Once I was able to log back in, I was character wise about 1 minute prior to the server crash.
Maybe it was just a coincidence.
I mean would anyone here really care if you made that kind of money just playing video games?
Yeah that’s how hardcore is since Diablo 3. People still die to server hiccups there. If people can’t accept random and unfair deaths in Diablo 4 hardcore, they shouldn’t play it.
It will not stop happening.
Accept that they have a mode they’re unable to reliably support?
I’d rather just play my own version of HC if I felt like doing it. Play SC and if it’s my fault that the character dies, it gets deleted. No glory with it, but no stupid frustrations to lag or bugs either.
I live in FL and sometimes the newscasters will come out in the middle of a hurricane and bust their ( )( ) for content.
Will happen to every HC character sooner or later.
Yeah. 10 years of experience tells us they won’t find a way to reliably support it.
Yes it’s bad and sucks. No it’s not going to change.
If enough people complain it certainly will. It might not be with server support, but options are there. If enough people want it and it benefits them financially they absolutely will find a solution.
Good.
20 characters.
i love server instability.
