Hello everyone. So I just respecced to werewolf skills after getting a few shapeshifting uniques like the ring, vasily helm, nature savagery etc. However my wolf build seems weaker than my melee storm warrior with his lightning storm. I expected my aoe to be weaker but ST much much stronger. But it seems my lightning storm beats shred even in ST. Am I missing something?
This is kind of frustrating because was so excited to finally be a werewolf/werebear and spent almost 20m gold and tons of mats for gear upgrades, respec points etc. I am lvl 74 by the way.

You aren’t missing anything. Werewolf by itself is rough. The gear and paragon / glyph requirements to make it comparable are absurd.
You and me both. Im now a tornado dog. Not at all the reason i rolled druid but holy crap shred is painful to play.
There is no reward for sweating and dodging. It sucks in all areas no matter what.
I was busting my balls struggling to clear a 50 on shred. Similiar gear tornado i literally afk farm 50s. No need to go lower because the entire map melts as i walk around.
Only ancestral im missing was gibbous axe which i think is a pretty big deal but not big enough for the disparity. I had to stack defense for shred and i got nuked.
Shred is very clunky and gets stuck often. Blurred beast is a joke so is the aoe storm crit on shred. Poison is a joke. Rabies is a joke so is creeper by 50.
Werewolf is especially bad pre 50 and struggles to cleae wt2. Not sure what its good at.
Any ww build is using legendaries to borrow other abilities like grizzly rage and debilitating roar. Claw is the worst.
Ww is sadly unplayable outside of very light casual stuff for RP LMAO

Oh yeah at no point in the game is lacerate worth pressing on any build. A blank ability slot would be better given you cant do anything for its duration.

Ack this is sad. I just spent most of my gold etc. trying to build a werewolf spec.
It’s ok ill just slowly slog thru it. I am sure they will improve it in the future. Worst scenario I just go back to my barb haha. I just wanted to concentrate on one character since they said season 1 is near so decided to just make a new character in season 1 and just stick to my druid till 100 haha
Yea I wanted to RP as a werewolf. One reason I chose druid for something different. At first I wanted to RP as Thor but we only have storm strike as a melee option on human form so scratch that. So was melee lightning storm hybrid build till I got enough for werewolf aspects.
Shred totally wrecks. Im lv 73 and doing T40 Dungeons comfortably. Can 1-3 shot elites when lucky.
Literally videos out there of WWs soloing level 100 NM dungeons with ease, why spread misinformation because you don’t know how to play it?
Do you stack Attack Speed? I just rerolled some attack speed on my gloves and it made shred swing a bit faster etc.
Also do you also use Lacerate for ultimate?
Are they shred werewolves? Are they poison? Pure? Or is it a stormwolf which is a storm druid with a werewolf coat?
@Tikku Are you shredding with the half stormwolf build? Are you poison? What’s the build? How unqiue dependent is it?
My point to all of this is the abilities by themselves suck. Lacerate is a joke to be sure. Shred is only good so far if you’re heavily geared, but has got enough bugs attached to it to be a right pain in the butt sometimes.
WW absolutely struggles. The problem with the forums is most people havent played other classes to an equal level. And they think admitting its weak is a reflection on themselves.
Full WW feels on par with other classes when you’re almost 70 and in youre Grizzly Rage with 3/4s of your spirit. Thats what rogue feels like all the time.
Rabies, Lacerate, and Claw all need buffs.
You’re talking about tornado builds right?
Lacerate and rabies doesn’t have any aspect or uniq so yea sad story also wanted
Using poison shred. No storm skills needed. Just need the mad wolfs glee unique. Not sure how mich that is needed, but surely helps. Build went bonkers after i realized you have to dash in order to do the huge hits with the aspect. Standing still and attacking won’t count. Just make sure to put it on a 2 hander weapon.

It’s good when you can get dash to reliably happen. A bit tedious but also fun when it is rolling.
I’m sticking Poison for now but going to try a Hurricane Shred build that I saw last night posted that has huge uptime on Grizzly Rage (Werewolf aspect 'd) that looked great. Decently large grind for items incoming though, heh
Note:
I do think for NM Dungeon grinding that Shred is below other builds but there is more than just NM Dungeons where shred style builds shine due to their inherent speed.
Also the large burst makes it nice for PvP grinding as you can hold back in case you need to attack (I’m just trying to farm currency for cosmetics, heh)
I just put in hurricane to help me get some AOE plus the vulnerable debuff on it is very useful. Although I do not have the helm that makes it a werewolf skill so I have one human form skill. I still use lacerate because I like the concept of it buuut I might switch to petrify if I feel I cannot progress any further. I have vasily helm so petrify is a werebear skill. I am trying to RP my druid into a shapeshifter.
Currently trying to reach the attack speed node to make my shred feel more fluid. I just reached the legendary node that reduces spirit cost by as much as 30% by shapeshifting between bear and wolf so it helps as well. My gameplay have become a bit more fluid now. Hoping to get more stuff as I level.
I am down to 400k gold. Rerolling stats is so expensive. And it does not even tell us potential stats that we can roll into unlike back in D3. Or is it possible to roll all kinds of stats in every gear?

They really needed to have the ultimate cooldown reduction spirit boon tied to core skills and not just nature damage skills. Every archetype of druid has access to that boon without an unique item except pure WW.
All class sources of vulnerable are locked behind Storm skills. Many aspects, passives, and spirit boons are tied to either Earth, Storm, or Nature Magic skills. It really feels like many of the builds I want to play aren’t possible yet and will be enabled later on through seasons or expansions. They had to have broken builds that they can “fix” later as a marketing tactic.

By poison shred do you mean blurred beast on a 2h axe? That would explain how you’re killing mobs twenty levels above you. Try it without blurred beast. I’m willing to bet your experience would be significantly different.
Blurred Beast aspect powerful? I actually got a lot of them before but was never interested because it seems awkward and weak to use. Darn it lol. I just salvage them lol Did not know it is powerful.
Can someone clarify how it works? If for example I used poison creeper to apply poison on all mobs and I dashed on one of them using shred. Will shred do damage to all the poisoned mobs in the area? Even the ones not on melee range?
Blurred beast is very strong, but, the play style is quite clunky. It requires you to be out of melee range and only applies on the dash from shred. So ideally you would take the 2nd/3rd combo also dashes from shred.
The poison from claw, poison creeper, rabies, toxic claw all stack. But in most situations you’d only have rabies/poison creeper up, but it still melts.
Single target damage is where it really starts to pull way ahead because you can stack all poisons. It’s a much more active playstyle.

It won’t consume the poison. You can keep dashing in and out or between mobs and then packs are quickly dead. It seems to hit all The stuff inbetween dashes too. Might be the another shred aoe lightning aspect tho…
