People that work, and dont take day off for sily things. Dont have those problems.
With the delayed launch with emergency maintenance, I decided to go to bed early and wake up and play. I woke up and was SOOOO pumped. Only to see I needed to download a 37.64 GB patch? And on top of that, rollercoaster DL speeds? anywhere from B/sec to 1 - 2 MB/sec. I am terribly disappointed.
What’s worse, is that there was a pre-download a week before release in order for us to be prepared to get “right into the action” when the expansion is released. I understand that crap happens, but when it happens over and over again, it no longer is “crap happens” but rather and failure to execute properly.
I just bought it on xbox and hit a realm walker at lvl 1, game is good if on console at least

I took the nab only to wake up (sadly not in a bogati), make delicious breakfast and after turning on the Iggs Boggs i could not play the new content. 10.1 MB patch found nowhere. Game reinstall 2h+. Small unhappy peasant also wants to play a bit… saying hello/greetings to you. 
Hmm… maybe i can do some “One Puch Man” sporty exercises… so me stronk when i login.

There is a function of installing/patching that most people don’t know about when it comes to Bliz’s launcher.
Not every moment is spent downloading. Often times, the download is paused so that a chunk that just came across can be processed. Due to the downloading being paused, the rate (which is a running average) will drop fairly quickly. And if given enough time, can drop way down to the kilobyte range or lower. Once the processing is done, the download resumes and the rate goes back up.
Additionally, each time the download resumes, there is commonly what’s called a burst speed. That typically is a temporary spike in download speed (at the start of a download) that goes higher than one’s maximum. If there are a lot of starts and stops, there can be a lot of burst speeds.
Added all together, there can be a wide range of undulating speeds in a single “download”.
I had from ~100MB/s (80ish is my max) to ~50kB/s when downloading the patch.
When my download is finished and i enter the game (if it even works) all players (no exeptions) will sit on their nice looking Citadel T4 mounts fully geared in 4GA bis items pointing with nekkid finger at me poor peasant laughing out loud. Grabbing 4GA pitchforks and torches and chase me. Not Chasing Amy… Chasing poor me <— this one here.
While writing this i saddened myself. I need to cry a bit.
