Should we be scared?

Should we be scared that Blizz isn’t able to get something simple like gem tab out until season 2?

Im starting to worry about issues like mounts never being fixed if that is the case.
How can things take this long, I’m not saying just throw money at the problem but how on earth can things like that take months?

Additional stash tabs seem like the most immediate solution.

I think World of Warcrafts bank tabs had more expansion in 2005.

Its just part of a long list of to do’s thats in a development pipeline for a more significant patch. I wouldnt worry until the first major update if small qol stuff like that hasn’t been done yet.

Because storage space for the hoarders is bottom tier on their list of things that D4 needs lol

you should be more worried about them being able to - instantly - nerf dungeons, cellars, abilities etc. but aren’t able to / don’t want to do any “good” things in similar time spans

this doesn’t indicate their “ability” but rather their philosophy, so in fact it’s way worse than you’re even alluding to

im worried there wont be anyone left to play the game by the time they get to adding a group finder, currently they said group finder and social features are planned “post season 2”

Should we be scared that people are so absurdly whiny about a gem tab of all things?

When there is no gemsink and no reason to have more than 5 of your highest grade gem?

3-4 extra inventory spaces has caused this much whining.

I can understand things like client changes taking a while.

Not sure if it would be any easier to just add a dedicated bank/inventory tab for it, rather than turning it into essentially a currency.

I don’t understand why it is taking so long to buff xp on nm dungeons. There was no need to bundle that in with a bunch of other random stuff. They were able to nerf them quickly enough.

i don’t see any problem with gem tabs, cuz when you upgrade them you don’t need them at all. And that is a real problem.

Isn’t the whole point of a live service, the ability to patch/hotfix/bugfix and add content on the fly?

Their main argument against adding Gem Tabs (or more accurately Gems as a currency) was that Season 1 was already in QA. Not that it would be challenging to put together in any reasonable amount of time. Why can’t they patch mid-season? And why are we waiting three months for something that could take potentially 2-3 weeks?

Players aren’t paid to care about Blizzard’s internal bureaucracy that may or may not be forbidding them. Upset your QA lead for all I care. Do what you gotta do.

Patching console games costs a lot of money and has to be approved by a board/committee.

You are playing a beta test right now, it’s not being scared, it’s knowing you got a rushed game and that it only goes downhill from here.

They have limited resources that they apply to a prioritized list of tasks. The reason seemingly simple things take longer is because they have decided it is more important to allocate the available resources towards higher priority items.

No we shouldn’t be worried because it’s not a simple thing like change a setting but a serious coding issue in changing part of the game itself.

And there will not be a gem tab, gems will be moved into the same category as mats we collect.

So they will probably be in the same sections as the mats.

The news that they are not trying to give us an instant change, but will take their time to do it is actually encouraging.

It’s not going to be rushed because that’s how you create game breaking bugs.

Yes, please, live in perpetual sense of dread because of video game.

Tomorrow is the first major update…

Adding a new table and linking table isn’t exactly hard to code. The hardest part will be adding the numbers to the already established gui, which also is not hard.

Blizzard has been following the same basic model for their updates to Diablo games for a very long time.

Exploits, game breaking bugs, and major balance issues get a hotfix.

Annoying bugs and moderate balance issues get addressed during the mid-season patch, of which there is usually one.

Feature enhancements, new content, and tweaks to the meta are made during the season launch update.

They’re just following the same pattern they’ve used since Diablo 2.

lmao they could probably do it overnight but they got to give us “content” somehow…

Not sure scared is the right word. More like. Demotivated, disappointed, uninstalled. Something along those lines.

Why? Just buy another game and cut your loss.
