Shop Skins design in 2023 - are you kidding me?

I mean… did anyone from blizzard saw any skin in Path of Exile ?
They are FULLY animated, with special effects.

What we have here ? Instead of basic grey, we get basic brown.
Jesus they are UGLY as hell.
And the pricing for such “thing” is beyond BS.

Give us FULLY ANIMATED skins for armor and weapons, or BRO, close the shop entirely.
Jesus, this skin design is from 1990s ?

Holy hell, men.

They explicitely stated that that was their intentions, that shop skins shouldn’t be that much better what you can get in base game or in the future from the battlepass.

This was mainly because people started to rage about having paid skins in a game they already paid for.

And i think that is pretty fair. Nobody is forcing you to buy skins. And this way those who don’t want to shovel even more money into the game, won’t feel bad about not buying anything when seeing someone who did.

It was literally the people (like you) who wanted this this way. Now you even start to complain?

I swear to god you are never satisfied. I witnessed this same thing happening in Darktide.
Game came out. → Game had real money cosmetic shop at launch. → People started to throw st to the devs for doing that and not including other game mechanic → devs stopped with the cosmetic shop for a while to focus on the gameplay mechanic → people started to throw st to them why they don’t add paid skins to the game.

You guys are a joke.

You can’t win right…‘the cosmetic shop is an abomination and going to destroy the game’ then on the other hand ‘the cosmetics are not awesome enough and are no better than what is in the game’

The mind boggles…

No thanks. Thankfully D4s model isn’t such that they have to completely ruin the game’s aesthetic by putting over the top cosmetics in the shop, and I hope it stays that way.

Yeah dude, people are a monolith and everyone has the same opinion. It couldn’t possibly be that people like OP who wants ridiculous outfits and the sane people who wants to maintain the aesthetic are, in fact, different groups of people

This is the most stupid response I have ever read in the whole forum.

You totaly dont understand the POINT of this.
Bringing “Nobody is forcing you to buy skins” is just stupid.
I want to buy skins.
But skins that are nice for the eye.
Not some garbage of your dustbin.

Stupid because you don’t like it. Which is okay. But calling someone stupid just based on your dislike is telling a lot of you.

But hey, if you like PoE better, play PoE. If you want to waste money, play F2P games.

I’m actually happy that there are no cotton candy shiny glowing skins in this game.
Diablo was never about fashiontrending. Did you ever play D2? The most powerful gear looked like a hobo clothing.

this is total bull. the shop skins look way better than the vast majority of in game transmogs. We hardly have any transmogs as is and half of them are repeats with tweaks on other items.

Personal opinion. My opinion is that 90% of the shop skins are not better. Just different. Only skin i found was really better is the one nekro skin with the fresh meat textures on it.
But hey, if you find them much better, at least we have a person here who gets his money worth by buying them. And that’s good.

It is kind of cute to see them fail so stupendously

sounds like cope to me. there are like 2 maybe 3 in game sets that even look comparable to the shop sets. they all look pretty decent, but the shop sets are way better and more complex. also I’m not paying 30 bucks for a freaking skin.

I’m glad that the transmog is better in game. I hate that in PoE my character looks like a bum until I fork out loads of money. In that game it makes more sense since it is f2p. This game is far from it, so the better stuff should be earnable in game.

Like how people use therms to describe something they disagree with or dislike with words which mean something else…
Again i’m happy that you see such a huge difference in skin quality. But in generel they are not a huge effort.

the shop skins are slight modifications of what we already have in game

Blizzard would have to pay me 30 euros per skin to get the idea to use one of these ugly skins.

This is not pass the deck saw this is not Diablo three this game tries to keep to a more down to sanctuary realism and not cartoonish animated armors

I hate the shop so much Pressing P and seeing that scamming looking woman makes me rage everytime

Hard disagree here. The armor and design in D2 was amazing imo, and the look depended on what type of armor it was. You could make an endgame armor out of light or heavy armor and each looked the part. Each armor class was distinct and actually looked like it could be functional.

EDIT: I actually still remember getting to act 4 in original D2 with my very first character as a total noob and seeing Ancient armor for the first time and how amazing that was…

I don’t know what Blizzard needs to do, but recoloring ingame sets and slap them on the MTX store for 25 dollars is not it chief.

Before anyone tries to disapprove me; the majority of the MTX cosmetics sets is in fact, recolored/slightly retextured ingame armar that sometimes have unique helms.

I don’t want wings amd rainbow disco light shoulderpads a.la. World of Warcraft, but again, slapping recolors at a price of 25 dollars (you caneven buy single piece items from the sets like in Darktide) is completely shameless.

PoE’s mtx does not fit into the Diablo world. They said they want more realistic looking armor sets.

Unless you buy Ultimate Edition upgrade and get to use an emote that portrays you with angel wings like Inarius.
