I own Diablo 4 on the PC and play on my blizzard account. My wife owns Diablo 4 on the xbox and plays connected to her blizzard account. She wants to try the PC and play on it for a while to see if she enjoys it better. But it won’t let her load up the game on the PC. Am I having to buy a 3rd copy of Diablo 4 for her to play it on PC…?
Correct, she would have to buy another copy strictly for PC. Or you can let her play it on your account to get a feel for it on PC first before you buy another copy.
That is very lame to have to buy 3 copies of the game if it was bought and paid for on two systems but thank you for letting me know that is the case. 0.o ![]()
Here’s the even dumber part. So let’s say your wife buys cosmetics from the in game store on Xbox, if she also bought the game for PC she would have access to those cosmetics on PC, without having to make that purchase twice, and vice versa.
At least they allow you that much, but it’s still dumb.
Players should be given the choice of two licence models:
- License to player: One player can play the game from any number of machines they want to, but only that one player can play it.
- Licence to machine: Any number of players can play the game from the one machine it is installed to, but it can only be installed to and played from that one machine.
Unfortunately, even with that choice, you’d still need two licenses since you have both two players and two machines, but at least then you wouldn’t need three.
