Shapeshifter glyph?

Hi All.
Got a few questions about the shapshifter glyph and it’s additionnal bonus.
“Shapeshifting has 20% chance to cause the skill’s damage to critical strike”.

The way it is written makes me think that if I am perma bear form, I won’t get anything from it ?
If I’m in human form and cast two pulverizes, only the first pulverizes will get that bonus and not the second one ?

I’m kinda confused, if anybody knows the exact mechanic behind that bonus, please teach me.

That’s how I understand it. The first skill use after your form changes (human/bear/wolf) is the one that benefits.

The only “exception” I think is shred, because it’s technically 3 hits, but counts as 1 use of shred. But idk I haven’t specifically tested

But pulverize, for example, says “shapeshift into a bear” so I would think the on-shapeshift mods and effects would be applied on each cast of a skill that would cause you to shapeshift.

But in that case wouldn’t it be more logical to just write : +20% critical strike chance while shapeshifted/for shapeshifting skills ?

It doesn’t work that way so it wouldn’t make sense to write it that way

Yeah, it sooms to be more for players would go between a lot. For example, I switch between human and bear quite a bit with trampleslide and use it to buff the latters damage.

What I’m unclear of is if switching back to human gets me the buff for something like hurricane?

It is broken as far as I am concerned. Their logic for shapeshifting is all over the place. They don’t work with either of the unique chest pieces. This issue affects the Inner Beast Legendary node as well. This is an issue with the Aspect of the Skinwalker too, but at least that reads “different” form.

I really don’t like how their inconsistent shapeshifting logic makes staying in a single form way less viable. If it procs on a shapechange, it should proc on any skill tagged with shapechange. I don’t want to be a bearwolf or a human bear. I want to be a damn bear the whole time. Not to mention that Ursine Strength is bugged with the Insatiable Fury chest piece.

It shouldn’t because to keep consistent with other shapeshift effects it would be when a shapeshift skill shapeshifts you into a different form.

I don’t think your landslide indirectly casted with Trample will get the benefit of the crit chance. From what I understand, only your trample (assumine you pass from human to bear) will get the crit chance benefit.

I’m using Vasily’s now which makes Landslide a Werebear skill, so maybe that helps? I’m not sure. There’s a lot of confusing interactions in the game.

it does since it’s your trample summoning those landslides.

I think it was worded that way to differentiate true shapeshift skills from skills that are made into wolf/bear skills by using particular gear effects.

I believe it triggers on skills that cause you to shapeshift into a new form (human to bear/wolf, wolf to bear and vice versa). I run a pulv/ trample build without grizzly rage or permabear unique, my base crit is 44% and i notice my bear skills crit far more often than that. Unfortunately there’s no way for me to test that without extensive trials (which I’m unwilling to do), so this is merely my speculation.

After doing some informal testing, just basic attacking with maul, I can say that this glyph almost surely is giving crit chance to that attack when spamming it. Try it yourself for a couple minutes. Count the crits and you’ll see

Not if you’re wearing Insatiable Fury.

Big doubts about it, because I’m 100% sure after lots of testing that resonnance passive will only apply to trample and not to the indirectly casted landslides.
Thus I see no reasons for this glyph to apply to the indirectly casted landslides.
