Shako is the most overrated item in ARPGs

To me, it is the most overrated item I’ve ever seen.

Ranks still don’t do THAT much.

20% damage reduction? You mean, I can have same with the most basic Legendary Aspect in the game after hitting an enemy one time with Basic Skill? You must be joking.

12% resource regen? Like on the 615 IP ring? You are trolling.

10% CDR? Wait, I can press shout 0.8 seconds earlier than before? Damn, Uber Lilith would be fryed if I got Shako on level 65.

1500 max life? …

Even if these numbers are greater than my example, still sucks.

I can have a helmet with 20% dmg reduction with aspect, 3 types of resistances and CDR. It’s neck to neck with Shako.

And it’s not diss on Shako just, all Unique items are trash. Maybe not all, but nearly.

You left out +4 to skills. That is a huge stat which is why shako is saught after.

I addressed that in my first point.

“Ranks still don’t do that much.”

I’ve added 3+ ranks to my skill, I got increase of 5% in dmg and 0.7 in CDR.

That should make me all powerful in endgame?

Right…

first off it is all skills. so yes +4 ranks is huge. and depending on the skill the ranks do matter drastically

Base dmg does a lot, however the amout of additional point you can pump into passives open up.

Oh my barb i prefer my andariel’s visage for the life leech tho.

War Cry damage went from 18% to 22% when I added 3 ranks.

Ok, some passive ranks increase might be good, but for the BEST item in the game, item is still lame.

The only lame thing about the shako is its red…

Andariel’s visage looks like an item bought in the gas station budget bin.

OP sounds like he’s mad he doesn’t have a Shako.

I hope it drops an Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander for you then, you can have something nicer

I was waiting for this comment.

I could care less, it’s more so disappointment on all unique itemes, therefore the most prestigious one. They are all just meh.

I would take Andriels Visage over Shako any day of the week.

I would say it depends on the class your playing.
Barb, rouge, druid andy’s
Sorc, necro shako

Well, like I said. You never had one so you actually have no idea.

I love when Rob equppied Shako and went to see how much his Deathblow got increased. It increased 0. Obviously bc he had ranks on his previous helmet, but that’s exactly what I’m talking about. Yes he gained in passives, but it didn’t enhance his experience at all, he didn’t unlock new playstyle. It’s just boring increase in some stats when already noone can kill you and yoi can kill everything in 2 secs.

And nobody is saying “yeah, 20 dmg red sucks when you can easily obtain that on every other piece od gear”

It’s not BiS for every build, but it is for most.

shako should be a level 1 uber unique! afterall the OP makes some valid points.

You are missing a point by a mile. I’ll draw it for ya.

The point is. Chasing most prestigous item in the game to only clear the content I already cleared gazillion times 4 seconds faster is just pure bad game design.

You should be able to unlock a complete new playstyle with it. Every Uber Unique needs a rework. Who cares about clearing stuff 0.2 secs faster when you are already deep in the endgame and you’ve been pressing same button and seeing same things happen on the screen for last 100 hours.

Doesn’t matter what your point is. You can’t review something you never owned. Ask Steam.

You missed it again, congrats. 3/3.

It would be a good thing if it isnt better than other items. It should merely be different from other items in some unique way, which it is.

I’d say Shako is still too powerful, but not terribly so.

The item is also a bit too generic. Which is a balance. Because it is nice that it is somewhat generic, working across many different classes and builds. But, it works across nearly all builds, which is a bit much.
At least one of its affixes could have been more focused.

The power of these kinds of items comes from being able to have both at the same time.

Surely nobody looks at crit chance on gloves and say, eh, useless since I can get crit on a ring. Or looking at CDR on a helmet, dismissing it since you can get CDR on amulet.

Nothing should make a character all powerful in endgame.

It does give the ability to create different builds but you can just equipt an item without looking at everything else and expect it to be optimized.
