After nearly maxing out darkness build necromancer, i have a few opinions about the shadowblight talent that i want to share constructively with the forum. Shadowblight does 2 things:
Shadow Damage infects enemies with Shadowblight for 2 seconds. You and your minions deal 10% bonus damage to enemies with Shadowblight
Every 10th time an enemy receives Shadow damage from you or your Minions while they are affected by Shadowblight, they take additional X Shadow Damage.
Now i will list some of the necessary legendary aspects that live next to darkness builds:
Aspect of decay:
Each time the Shadowblight Key Passive deals damage to enemies, it increases the next Shadowblight’s damage within xx seconds by xx%x, stacking up to 10 times.
Blighted aspect:
You deal xx%x increased damage for xx seconds after the Shadowblight Key Passive damages enemies 10 times.
Now i will say my piece, notice that all these damage modifiers take place after 10 instances of damage occur. 10 instances of damage that will cause you to get your biggest damage increase among any aspect. On the other hand you have barbarian, bone necro, rogue, or sorceror and they will do their damage instantly. Push a button, do damage. They dont have to wait. By the time ive done 10 hits, the other class is out the door on the other side of the map. I understand the darkness build is d4’s premier DoT build and requires some set up, but if we reduce the damage instance requirements to 5 instead of 10, then i think the build will be competitive with other classes and specs.
Thanks for listening to my constructive feedback,
