Shade totem targetable by players

When the shade totem comes out all of my arrows attacks the totem which really hurts the dps. I this this should not be targetable by players!

To elaborate on this a little… While playing with a controller, anything that has AI targeting, or anything that is NOT AoE meta - Shade Totem completely breaks gameplay.

I have been playing a Hydra Sorcerer since early access and, yeah… I now detest Shade Totems. I have billions of damage going uselessly into a totem.
I even experienced this while using an endgame Death Blow build on my Barb, the totem was next to me and my Barb started wasting the BIG hits on the totem rather than the boss.

To answer OP: WHY are PCs able to target this?
Because all the top tier meta builds are AoE button spam. So, it doesn’t matter.

Yeah, the totem targetting should be fixed. Noticed my minions stuck attacking it at one point.

I’ve also notice this. The rogue’s shade totems are considered an enemy which is a problem for several reasons. One problem is that PC attacks, both from the rogue and their party members, can and will target the totem causing a loss in DPS. The second problem is that in some cases where there is a requirement to kill all enemies to open a chest or to clear a stage of a dungeon, it will consider it an enemy that has to be killed which I’ve noticed has bugged the chest or dungeon to not open or clear respectively.

I was wondering why those would pop up and have an enemy’s health bar. Still happening btw just happened a little bit earlier while fighting a world boss.

Thats not a bug… that’s literally the entire point of the totem. Youre SUPPOSED to attackt. It absorbs that damage and redistributes it even harder onto opponents near it.
Its not ruining your damage, its amplifying it and dishing out way more dmg… This post shouldn’t be under bug reports.
