My understanding is that the Beta version used on the Server Slam is not the final version. That we will have to re download.

Personally, I am just going to keep it around until the pre-download happens for release and delete it later if it is not used.

Yes. The search feature is what most seem to think is a paid feature, and dont think they are able to use it.

Google is also always broken.

They count as two different games on the Xbox, the server slam is an “upgrade” of the beta, but the release still counts as a separate game, I have both pinned on my home page. A bonus is that hours played on the bets/slam don’t count toward the release, but they are separate downloads, so some had trouble finding the beta. I have no knowledge of the PS platform.

I don’t know why they couldn’t salvage the beta download and patch it to the live version. I guarantee most of the data will remain identical. Also, like others have said, 80 gigs is a lot.

i’ll nuke beta when it tells me too and not before.

it’s not like that will literally take a few seconds compared to a 20 hour DL.

I would seriously recommend just downloading it fresh on launch day. Not only will you be free of any potentially corrupt files, but it will be a contiguous install and not fragmented or bloated from thousands of passes on the data and index files. It may seem like more of a hassle, but as many find out really quickly, the download time is often far less than time spent troubleshooting performance or crashing issues from reusing beta assets.

I know that for a small number of players their data cap is low enough that the downsides of chewing through that cap are worse than the downsides of reusing beta assets, but for the rest an ounce of prevention saves a pound of trouble.

The worst part is how when making the thread, it would have popped up suggestions about threads with the answer.
