Server issues are real

I’m having similar issues too. I’ve done everything I could think of that might be a “me” problem, and nothing is coming back as unnormal.

I’ve even run several Diablo 4 repair cycles thinking something might have been broken in the files, but nope. Still hard hard lag, rubberbanding, etc… it’s awful (especially the last 2 days). I cannot run anything confidently without fear of random death

Yea, I now have a Technician Supervisor coming to my house next week to ensure this isn’t a me (them) problem. They’re gonna check everything from my modem all the way back to the node. If they don’t find anything I don’t wanna hear how the problem is still me. Especially with other reports from other users of the exact same thing.

I’m going through the effort to find out if it’s my ISP though. However, people on here will still be toxic and say otherwise just to be argumentative.

its not you Jemuzu, i posted a detail listing of bliz server ip’s with my tracerts and west is having issues.

the post is here: New Mini Game inside D4 - survive the lag

I’m a Director of IT at a SE Corporation. While I rarely do off hour onsite consultation for old clients I charge $150.00 an hour. If you rule out a probable cause of your problem you will never fix the problem. It sounds like you need professional help to fix your problem…

Id prefer to play single player with no online garbage. Wish that was an option. Forcing us into battle.net was a bad idea. Im in USwest and get rubber banding. I basically finished S4 and have no plans to ever play this game again. Total, utter, trash.

Edit: I hate current blizz so much I just requested account deletion. Goodbye D2/d3/d4. D2 was the last good game they made. The new version was good, but it forces bnet play. Still got my old discs so dont beed the new garbage.

Cant wait to be done with a bad company!!!

I’ve been experiencing this lag since the sorcerer patch. None of my other games are lagging or having any issues. It’s the first time I’ve actually experienced this in my 700 hours on Diablo 4. It’s constant lag spikes and rubber banding. Game is almost unplayable. I’ve been resetting my modem and router constantly. I even had my provider come out and get me a new modem and router and had all my wires checked. I’m west coast on PS5, hardwired with good internet. I just want to play the game :sob:. Im glad that it only seems to be affecting a very small amount of people but for the people it’s effecting, it sucks.

No, you’re not. 5 char.

Yeah, its a laggy mess in Helltides or anywhere players need to load in. Crossplay off, chat is on. No lag in NMs/pits.

I split time between this game and a tactical shooter(UE5 game no less) that if you dont kill the AI within 1.5 seconds of seeing you, your dead. Zero issues in that game with lag spikes/rubberbanding so yeah, not my hardware. Edit: Its a multiplayer online game.

Do you have a VPN? If so try using that to see if you can change the route. Perhaps something directly between you and the server is to blame.

I don’t use a VPN. Thanks for the suggestion though.

My sister only has issues when playing with me and pits. She loads so slow. Takes 1 to 2 minutes to load into the boss fight fight in the pit. And we know that pit’s are timed, generally the time is not an issue anyhow but every once in a while her slow loading has cost us a run. Sometimes she can’t load in at all and has to exit game. When she plays solo, she says she never has this problem.

As Tatsumakijim mentioned, using a vpn can indeed reduce the number of hops between server points on a connection. It also seems highly likely that since there are thousands playing every day with only a handfull of complaints, the problems does indeed lie with the few. Try the Vpn, there is a problem with how your broadband is trace routing to the diablo servers.

This just doesn’t get through to some people.

I was seeing some rubberbanding earlier, and yesterday…but nothing too lasting,on the East Coast.

So the downside, is the problem may very well NOT be you, but it still may not be them, just the route between you and them. Like someone else said VPN is a good way to change the route and number of hops to the server. I played competitve Overwatch like this for a few years when all of a sudden I was getting disconnected from their servers.
And “while no other games do this” seems like a reasonable argument…well no other games have the same route from you to the Blizzard servers.

Run the traceroute, if you did not already and see if you are getting packet loss.

I’m not saying that distance is specifically the issue, though. Only that the issue can potentially be something that’s beyond your, your isp, or Blizzard’s control. Given what we know that seems the most logical explanation.

For example, a number of years back WoW (or D3, can’t remember) had connection issues related to Blizzard’s ISP and not the servers themselves. They, like us, had to wait for the issue to be resolved.

Yeah I am able to log on then get kicked with “Network Disconnect” “Reconnecting” after 5 minutes but it never reconnects. I tried 4 times and it just keeps kicking me
