Seriously where is the RAWHIDE and IRON?

I have run out of rawhide and I have been looking for a place to get more and all options I have tried give 20 at most for the most part with the chaos chest giving the most at about 300. I did a legion event and got 7! 10 Round Horde I got 60-80. If I can’t consistently farm this somehow how the hell are we supposed to be able to do masterworking and enchanting. Blizzard needs to stop this gating crap. Anyone know of anything?

Whisper caches give the most. You can constantly get grim favors by doing the whispers in helltide, pvp zones etc. No long dungeons required.

Ya I have noticed that as well. Thing is being they are needed so heavily for Masterwroking and Enchanting they should be far more available then they are.

Yeah thats true. Since mnd’s are so useless this season I would advice to give the boss or cache at the end a hefty chunk of all the basic mats but apparently… bliz wants us to not be done with our characters within a week. Hence the heavily reduced drop rate and amount of everything.

Too many different mats…
They should reduce to fewer mats for everything like they did with Obducite & MW

never had an issue with either of them and i am min maxing now. But i use the proper merc that shows you in the map where these are located, so do that.

Legions and whispers are going to be your go-to for those

It gets better once you are doing IH, the big chest gives you both rawhide and iron chunks.

Before that I found the wooden chests in NMD the bigger ones usually with a guardian give you pretty decent iron.

And Rawhide…I think I was getting in helltides…opening chests.

And I only did like one legion and that was about 5 minutes ago to get one of the seasonal journey items.

The problem is they are not intentional giving rawhide and iron chunks from the greater chest in infernal horde, are simple a product of the automatic scrap the game of the blue/yellow items when you play in torment difficulties.

This is where they state in the patch notes

  • Starting in Torment Difficulty I, only Legendary and Unique items can drop. Any Normal, Magic, or Rare items that would have randomly dropped will instead be automatically converted into corresponding crafting materials.
  • Diablo IV Patch Notes — Diablo IV — Blizzard News

So there isn’t a real source of raw hide and iron chunks, it’s simple the blue/yellow items now we don’t need to take it anymore and get scrapped automatically, instead we going to blacksmith to scrap them.

Rawhide and iron chunks should be a drop in the mats chest of Infernal horde.

Sure…the end result is still the same.
I get all my iron and rawhide there currently.

The end yes, but this means Blizzard haven’t added a way to get raw hides and iron chunks, they only nerfed the quantity you get from scrapping.

So Blizzard intentionally slowed the basic progression of the game, like they have done with gold in infernal horde.

Funny thing is they have made more easier the advanced progression, giving more summons materials for bosses and reduced the quantity needed.

Seems a bit strange to make the basic progression slower and a big part of the endgame quicker.

Yes they slowed the progression for the very first character you make.
But the 2nd character will have all your mats and only need to level to 60. They will inherit your paragon status form your first character. Paragon really is the longer part of leveling.

I personally did not mind it. Yes at times it felt like those mats were scarce…but I figured out where I would get the most and did that…now it is an afterthought. And I was tempering and putting aspects on things all the way to 60 from when I could.

This only if you play eternal, season players will need to farm again this slowed base progression every time for every character for every season.

If someone play T3-T4 gold and basic materials shouldn’t be anymore a problem, farming gear should be the main goal for an arpg, farming basic materials is more a thing for a f2p mmorpg.

Add to this, aether and difficulties, do barely a difference in Infernal horde reward from mats and gold chest, with 500-800 aether and t2-3 difficulty you pass from 6 millions to less of 10 millions.

Basically there is no reason to play higher torment and high waves infernal horde, if you play for the mats and gold chest.

With this stealth nerfs they have done to slow the progression, they broken the scaling and balance of Infernal Horde.

We used to get plenty of those from salvaging legendaries pre 2.0.

Some genius in the developer team thought it was a good idea that salvaging legendaries should yield the equal amount of legendary, rare and common materials.

Freaking one Rawhide/Iron Chunk from a 750 legendary, three if 800 ancestral.

But they give us so many gem fragments you can reach the cap and see those litter everywhere in one week of seasonal play.

No this is on seasonal also. Any follow up character will inherit paragon.
I play on Seasonal.
Yes every new season your 1st character will have to do it all over again.

But the problem are the basic materials, they are not get inherith.

Seasonal players will have even more problem from this stealth nerf and the nerf of the materials you get from scrapping, which make the base progression more slower then the endgame, which is nonsense.

Having the basic progression to be more slower of the endgame, is the opposite of what an arpg need to do.

You absolutely do. I just made that as a test.

Again that is ON SEASONAL.

Go watch the campfire chat they explained all this. You are guessing at things and could not be more wrong.
