I’m referring to the new patch changes that buff super ball lightning from 100% increased damage to 125% increased damage.
Guys, the reason no one uses ball lightning on live and why no one used the new super ball lightning unique on the PTR is because base ball lightning damage is 0. 0 multiplied by 125% is still 0.
Even bad builds do tens of billions of damage. We’re talking barely T100-viable here. You are wasting your time making new ball lightning uniques if the base ability still does 0 damage.
Not to mention that you need several mythic uniques to bring this hypothetical super ball lightning build online and you will be missing all of the good affixes from a normal focus like CDR. Seriously…

There’s the context we need. So your argument now is that Ball Lightning itself does zero damage correct? As in you hit the enemy with it, and it quite literally does nothing, so it just shows an effect instead?
I don’t play sorc so I’m genuinely asking. Sounds like a broken skill if that’s the case.
Just like every other sorc skill except for maybe fireball and lightning spear with aspect. That’s why high-end sorc builds use items like frostburn and do shatter sorcery. Base skills just do no damage.
So sorc base skills do zero damage? Ouch, why have them in the game if they are quite literally doing zero damage. That sounds broken to me. Now if they just do low damage that’s a whole other story, but doing zero? Damn, don’t know what to tell you sorcs, you got screwed hard.
