Had a level 50 hardcore Druid just drop dead outta nowhere. I had just killed the spider Queen (blistered heart quest) while I was waiting for a friend to sort out some equipment in town, I was clearing some of those little spiders and my character dropped dead for no apparent reason. The log said that I had killed myself - ‘FatPat was killed by FatPat’. The hall of dead heroes said the cause of death was unknown.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Still trying to make sense of it. I love hardcore, but the only lesson I can make from this is: don’t play hardcore with the current bugs.
Edit: skills I was using included, pulverize, all the companions, earthen bulwark, and maul. Pretty sure I was hitting pulverize when I fell over and died. Is it possible I hit myself with it somehow?
Seems the little spiders explode for poison damage, maybe for some reason the explosion fx wasnt displayed.
Is that the kind of death message you see when you’re killed by exploders? It says you killed your self?
I’m not playing HC but I just died the same way. The text said, “Isaac was slain by Isaac!”. I was fighting a bunch of spiders in a nightmare 6 dungeon and suddenly I was dead. I wasn’t low on HP and the spiders were trash mobs 
I have had that happen at full health fighting a boss .was clear across the room from the boss and behind a column and just died.
Yes this, many times in one dungeon where the mob explodes on death. Could that be it that I triggered the thing that killed me?
i just died the same way… says girldawg slayed girldawg… no explosions just ghosts… was level 100 sorc full health doing a level 50 dungeon… so screwed up
