Seems WT1 is more efficient and better than WT2 in terms of leveling to endgame

I watched this guy video and it all make sense.

Dear Asmon, World Tier 2 is a Noob Trap - Love Don | Diablo IV - YouTube

Forget the Asmon part that is not relevant here (just the title).

Essentially, what he is saying things takes longer to kill (especially bosses), and harder to kill. But there is no real loot drop % gain or quality gain except slowing you down.

Only 2 perks in WT2 are 20% more XP and 15% more gold, nothing else.

I experienced WT2 in server slam and dungeon bosses do take longer than I like to die (yes I played Necro), whatever this thread isn’t about Necro nerfs.

Looks like in live game, I’ll be selecting WT1.

Why would anyone want to start WT2 ?
(I am interested in hearing your rationale for choosing WT2 over WT1)

Is the appropriate message here.

that is not the point of this post. Anything to share from the question ?
Will you do WT1 or WT2 then capstone dungeon to WT 3? why and why not ?

I will do WT2 because I find it more fun.

So you are not in it for pure efficiency and rewards ? interesting…

Well, the approach is to go W2 first, then if your kill speed slows down, you turn it back to W1.

W2 and W1 difficulty depends on your class and RNG with rares/legendaries.

It’s not something you can “plan” ahead.

I believe that WT1 is much better and more efficient if you are the casual to average player. You will probably die a lot more, and take longer to kill stuff with lack of knowledge on how to build and gear a character to the point the 20% extra experience will be void by simply taking more than 20% longer.

The average to elite players, will be killing stuff and not dying to where that 20% boost of experience, also isn’t taking them 20% more time, to where it then makes it worth it.

So I would agree for the “majority”, WT1 will be more efficient, but it won’t be for skilled players

My experience in beta tells me WT2 bosses were def harder to kill and you would actually die to them . of course all depending on skills, class, RNG on gear etc etc.

But let’s say with all being equal -->wouldn’t WT1 provides greater benefit and efficiency ?

Are you okay? Literally world tier 2 states if you are familiar with the Diablo genre and don’t need tool tips or help… but you do get a boost to exp and what not. Bosses do not take that long to kill haven’t struggled in tier 2 by any means… tried many builds with many classes and had fun. You do understand some shine earlier then others right? Where as the late bloomers will outshine…

I was a hardcore D3 farm Torment XIII player, stuff gets deleted instantly when I play my monk in full Unique sets. D4 I died to dungeon bosses 2 or 3 times before beating it on WT2 during server slam…

huh

If you played a necro with summons before it was “fixed”, you were definitely playing the game on “hard” mode.

All things being equal W1 is a winner. Why sweat extra for the same drops?

Let’s be honest, speed of you killing is more based on how lucky you got with drops than how skilled you are. 600 AP casual will be more efficient than 400 AP pro and that’s absolutely within “luck” range at given level.

I think this response make sense/.

I will check the exp from first mobs on WT2 if is still remain bugged 300% I will have to stay on WT2. If is only 20 then WT is way to go becouse I will faceroll one shoting everything through main quest 3x faster. Depends on the gear but the 20% exp is not worth it and I dont care about 15% gold at all. I can play on WT1 with chain light like pre nerf damage which is more fun.

I hope you truly don’t believe that. I played with buddies of all different skill levels these beta weekends and I can tell you 100% there’s no hope for some of them in terms of getting to nightmare difficulty and beyond in the same realm of time as me and some of my other buddies.

They could start with full legendary slots and still wouldn’t keep up

I just want to instantly delete everything like I did in D3 with D4. I hope that can be achieved in late game. So far, D4 seems challenging in WT 2 I find.

Lol its not even contest there is not even ladder yet. Who cares, ppl usually play for fun you know? Doing side quests and horizontal content. Imo everyone will be able to do Nightmare easy. Its game for console players. This is not D2R level. Its like D3 for children. The legendary may rain from the sky at lvl 40+ we dont know.

Pretty sure it is 20% not 200% XP gain.

Well I know that with single crappy legendary I could clear lv 30 stronghold in WT2, which I guess doesn’t make me terrible player. I also know that when I had crappy items because of bad luck I’ve progressed way faster in WT1. In total I’ve leveled to 20 in 2.5h, good portion of it I had one hand item without offhand because so it happened it was best I got.

I believe some people simply might struggle, but these are really edge cases, if we take majority of player base then AP/Item power will be deciding factor for what World Difficulty is the best. You can be the best player in world not getting hit by anything, however if you are in for efficiency, the moment enemies start to feel like damage sponge, you better switch to lower WT.

Additionally WT has no impact on drop rate, also XP% gain is lower than mob/boss HP% gain, so then it depends of ratio of increased kill speed with fight stalls caused by movement.

Server slam was 300% seen video of the guy who tested that. I made lvl 20 in like 4 dungeons runs, super fast. Wasnt like that in first and second beta.
