Seasonal Nightmare Sigil Crafting Cannot Be Unlocked

Hello ,

I already did soo many nightmare dungeons in the seasonal but in some case i don’t know why , i cannot salvage or craft any sigils . I hope there would be fix on this issue .

What level are you? Someone said you need to be level 59 to get the quest. I am not sure.

Also, it says online:

In order to unlock the option of crafting Nightmare Sigils in Diablo 4, you must clear a Tier 3 or higher Nightmare Dungeon. After that, you’ll unlock a priority quest with the Occultist in Kyovashad.

Hello mate , i’m just almost level 59 also will try on that , the other thing is nightmare dungeon difficulty level is stucked 2 on me i did like 10 of them easly but the sigils ain’t incremented . In non seasonal one i quite don’t remember that , these kinds of salvage and crafting sigil things struggled me that much !

Im having the exact same issue. Have done multiple nightmare sigils and cant get a quest to unlock sigil crafting. Im level 53 currently

Edit: Issue is you have to do a tier4 nightmare sigil and then it unlocks it.

I and my spouse are having same issue. Had no problems with sigil creation or destruction in Eternal and I do not remember there being a level requirement, just needed to be in world tier III.

I am having the same issue.

The first sigil that dropped for me was a Tier 12 sigil. I beat the tier 12 NM dungeon at level 48 and got nothing. Is it really gated through Level 59? THAT would REALLY suck…

I feel like I got screwed by progressing too fast since at level 48 you don’t get the normal NM dungeon completion.

You have to complete a level 3 or higher NMD in order for the quest to open.

I can confirm that after completing an NMD lv.3, the quest popped up for me.

What is the actual “real” requirement…?
My druid is lvl 55, have been running NMD’s from sigils that dropped since lvl 47. Have a bag full of sigils only lvl 1 and 2 (that I cannot get rid of unless I sell them) but STILL have not been offered the quest. On my nonSeason Rogue I was offered the quest immediately after defeating the Catho’Light.
This is useless if I can’t craft better sigils… Blizz pull your head out of your a$$, this is a bug obviously.

Unlocking Sigil Crafting

In order to unlock Sigil Crafting at the Occultist, you must first complete a Tier 3 Nightmare Dungeon. Follow these steps:

  1. First complete a Tier 1 Nightmare Dungeon, which you acquire through the Tree of Whispers in Nightmare Difficulty.
  2. As you kill monsters and progress through the Tier 1 Nightmare Dungeon, you are likely to find a Tier 2 Nightmare Sigil. If you do not, run any Tier 1 Nightmare Sigils you acquired in that dungeon to try again. You can also reliably acquire additional Tier 1 Sigils through the Tree of Whispers.
  3. Run a Tier 2 Nightmare Dungeon or Dungeons to acquire a Tier 3 Nightmare Sigil.
  4. Once you acquire a Tier 3 Nightmare Sigil, complete that Dungeon to unlock Sigil Crafting!

I have completed 5+ Tier 2 Nightmare Dungeons, and only ever receive a single Tier 1 or 2 Nightmare Sigil. Do I just have to wait infinitely for a random dice roll to work in my favour? I don’t remember having this issue on my initial preseason character.

I’m going in circles. I can’t do tier 3s because I haven’t unlocked crafting, and can’t unlock crafting because I don’t get/can’t do tier 3s.

Edit: Maybe I’m getting my timeline wrong but I’m pretty sure I rode along with some higher level players doing tier 5-20 dungeons on this current character. I may be misremembering though.

I ran the Sigil 2 Nightmare Dungeons 15 times before a tier 3 dropped for me. It is appears to be another effort to slow progression in the game. (I had 4 tier 3 Sigils drop in that dungeon.)

If season 2 doesn’t supply some new content besides heart damage multipliers I may already be done with Diablo

So i was struggling with this too, i had seemingly unlocked the occultist and done the quest but could not craft or salvage sigils, however i also did not notice that sigils are different levels. I was doing a bunch of level 1 sigils. Finally i realized this and found a level 2 sigil, i did that nightmare dungeon and during that dungeon a level 4 and 5 sigil dropped. After doing that level 4 nightmare dungeon the occultist gave the option of crafting and salvaging sigils.

Yup. I ran into this too, and like everyone is saying: you committed the unforgivable sin of advancing through the World Tiers too quickly. There are parts of the quest that cannot be completed on WT3/4 and you will need to go back to do those at the appropriate tier. (Note for Blizzard: THIS IS REALLY DUMB.)

I was having this same issue. I came to this thread and saw people mentioning that you had to do a tier 3 to unlock the quest. I had 2 in my inventory and so I did one and upon completion the quest unlocked in Kyovashad with Demyan the Occultist.

Blizzard really should have put something in the quest guide to let people know that this was how to unlock this.

Maybe add a tool tip when you mouse over the option to craft and dissmantle sigils explaining that you need to complete a tier 3 NM dungeon because it should not have been this difficult to figure out.
