Hi guys, I have tried like 4 classes so far, and multiple builds on each. I am not a minmaxer, and cant be bothered to try and push hight pits (got to like tier 62 for mats), so this is purely a gameplay perspective (subjective fun factor).
Why is that the most effective builds in the game revolve around basic skills? I have tried windshear druid, heartseeker rogue, bash barb… At first I truly wanted to have fun, so I rolled dust devil whirlwind barb, but my god, even with good stats and rolls it feels terrible against bosses… Bu I needed to get to pit tier 60 or above to get mats for masterwork. I decided Id go with some more popular builds, but they are all basic attacks, and boring (Wind shear druid might be the most boring thing Ive ever played)…
For next season, plz make core skills great again, cuz this meta sucks. Thanks.
I just want some build, that clears the screen, does not use basic skill and can speedfarm pit tier like 80-90 for nice mats farm… As it stands, my Whirlwind barb demolishes everything in pit 62, but bosses take 10 minutes to kill… So thats a no go…
My problem is, that most builds are either really good against bosses, but sucks vs groups or the other way around…If there was separate pit for bossing and elite pack clearing, that would be great.
Play whatever you want. You dont need to copy some streamers/website build. I did my own FO build this season which im having a lot of fun with.
Sure im only doing pits in the 90s but my build is fun and pit pushing isnt necessary. Im not hitting 150/200 this season so if i cant get the achievement beyond 61 is just more mats for masterworking.
Id like to do my own build, but I am scared Id mess up terribly still dont understand the positioning and order of paragon boards, how it works etc… It seems kinda convoluted for me.
It took me a bit to understand the maffs but the first couple seasons i screwed up. If my build isnt viable but fun i will look to see what im doing wrong.
Seasons are short but building a character is doable for all. Masterworking is really the only grind but if you not doing pit 130 who cares.
S1 i did a metero build because i really wanted to play metero. I couldnt figure out why i was only getting 100k hits. When i gave up i looked, someone had a build and I copied there paragon board but took time to understand why mine didnt work.
Just take an alt and do your thing. You may get enjoyment out of it but you wont know till you try
If you’ve followed the campfire chats one topic early on s1ish was all the basic attack builds blew chunks. After going through 20 miles of red tape they are fixed in season 4. It just all happened at once. Not 1 at a time.
It’s largely because the PIT Bosses are out of balance in the mid tiers (30 - 80) and have so many one shot mechanics you need a build that is basic attack with some kind of constant invincible uptime.
Boost this post - it has suggestions for this and other fixes:
dont be. Usually i try to get a rough idea about the available builds and how they perform. If its Tier B or above im interested. Then ill just start playing the class - incase i need help or i feel like i underperform, i check resources =)
especially if you regularly stick to a class, youll rely on guides less over the time.
many people just blindly copy paste builds, without even knowing what they are doing.
I did need to masterworking in order to push. Once I was 8/8 i was able to push into the 60s. I found you pretty much need to go mostly glass cannon with 25K+ hp pool.
Attack speed is super important and I swap pots to the ias at the bosses. Only bosses are challenging. You just can get hit by any of the echo attacks or its a one shot so learning all the positioning was prob the hardest challenge 70+.
What is not fine is having the gear finding and improvement systems be such a randomized slog that, unless you can do this as your full time job, it is too painful to be creative and explore trying to find new Meta…One of the main goals of the game should be to find viable builds that aren’t already on a tier list on maxroll…But currently it takes more time than people have to get close to best in slot on the top 1- 2 metas that actually make it viable to run the pit enough to max out
