Season 9 is fun, i never thought i would play D4 again after play POE2 (My feedback)

I really enjoying S9, everything feels better, items, stats, tempering etc, i always liked nightmare dungeons and season 9 make it good.
Even considering that encounters like Butcher, bloodseekers were a missed opportunity since they were ignored in nightmare dungeons rework.

Game is definitely in the right direction, heres my suggestions

  • Make PvP zone a single instance, maybe two instances non-torment and torment, fragmentation between multiple difficulties made it impossible to play (you may think pvp is not important but players are not playing because the game is making barriers for them)

  • Nightmare dungeons encounters should be better and not rare, Butcher shouldn’t drop always the same loot

  • Please stop making builds completely broken, i just saw a sorc one shotting T4 bosses, make a parameter, make it public and tell your players nobody will pass X threshold, therefore nerfing builds that exceeds it too much

  • Powers should have more sinergy with classes, as a barbarian i feel no power is good for me this season, propulsion is the best one but at same time it knockback my enemies, no power feels good on melee

I have nothing wrong with your feedback, however you mentioned tempering, which quite literally hasn’t changed. The only thing they’ve done is shrink some of the recipes to only have 4 or less affixes for the system to choose from (majority are 3 I want to say).

I’m also a little confused by this. Currently the PVP zones are secluded to each difficulty tier. If you’re on Normal difficulty, you won’t find people from Hard, Expert, Penitent, or any Torment tier. I don’t PVP obviously, but I’ve heard there is a PVP community, I just have no idea what difficulty tier they fight in, I would think T4, but I could be wrong.

It’s been over 2 years now, every single major patch includes some kind of bugged interaction they never found during testing. That being said they are trying to squash the bigger outliers sooner rather than later. For example the patch coming up on Tuesday will address the hilarious infinite damage bug. Previously they would let it ride out until the end of the season unless it broke the servers or made the game crash.

It’ll be a constant work in progress, I don’t think it’ll happen until maintenance mode if I’m being honest. The coding seems so bad that there’s always a new odd bug coming out of the woodworks every season. Uniques missing affixes I thought wouldn’t even be possible, but somehow it happened this season.

Nice to see some ppl having fun these days

Yep, D4 has (some) problems but a lot of them are much lesser deal than what people tend to make of them. There are a few bigger ones but won’t spoil it here

Lord Zir spawns a bunch, must say after hitting my head against the wall against him today I’m glad that the rest of game doesn’t have them

It’s fine that the Butcher has his own drop, the thing is there should be like 15 of the kind rotated (and not just him). For example there’s X’Fal but for some reason he doesn’t drop his ring :stuck_out_tongue:

Not sure about rarity vs non-rarity though, I think it’s fine if there’s a dose of surprise in rarity tbh

:100:

It may have been Hydra and they said they’re coming up with a fix (i.e. the build being bugged)

Unfortunately you’re correct, almost every single game so far except PoE2 and to an extent LE or D3 have had vast problems with designing melee (and sadly yes that includes D4)

Out of curiosity since I’m playing a hydra build, how is it bugged? I’m comfortably farming T4 but far from one-shotting bosses or even elites (at least in the literal sense), so I’ve probably not found the bugged interaction and hopefully won’t be nerfed to oblivion.

I think it’s some kind of a stacking of repeated Strongrooms where Hydras retain and stack some bonuses (or something like that)

I don’t play Sorc either to tell

that was fixed last patch

It’s not up yet, the patch goes live at 15th in 2 days time

Glad you’re enjoying the season. It has been rather enjoyable.

As far as PVP, I think they need to set up an arena for PVP enjoyers so they can find each other eaaier. The PVP zones need to be repurposed as the general playerbase avoids these zones completely.

Add stun to the build and this helps them take multiplicative damage from stun, so the explosion only pushes what lives, the rest if you want can make use of knockback and have them stunned when they hit walls, and creating small explosions.

Personal preference, i actually like knockback into terrain so there is that.

Only issue i have with propulsion is if i put it on basic attack it tend to cast at range sometimes, so what skill you have it on might matter. Having it on core seems to keep it closer ranged from what i see.

Overally though i would support more melee range options in powers :+1:

Edit- Wild idea , D4 or D5 should add some god of war like to bosses and some quicktime phase events

Jokes aside i wouldn’t mind more god of war like gameplay in a iso-arpg, or heck make it 3rd person, i need more than loot farming exploding pinata’s for gaming and the genre need’s a aaa blockbuster to shake it up, i love the indie devs and the games, it’s just needed from a bigger franchise also imo.

I thought poe 2 would be it, but no the zoomer’s went over to destroy that game also so rip on the things that make it different.

I miss the days arpg’s could come out and be different and that was that. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I thought that was already fixed… I think the 15th is something else and they are also fixing the infinite strongroom thingy.

I say this because I was thinking of making a Sorc to check it out but they patched it already.

Last time o played it had a lot more options, close damage etc and scroll of restauration was not that easy to get

Thats the whole point, when D4 release it had less difficulties which means less fragmentation, more players in the same instance, pvp died when they made it into multiple difficulties

1 encounter in dungeon is totally different from cringe summons

POE2 and D4 melee are fine, a mechanic that knocks them outside of the screen makes my melee which is functional, not functional :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

Season 8 i didn’t played that much because i didn’t like these powers so much, too stravagant killing class fantasy, but it had power from grigoire which had sinergy with my double swing build

Ah ok. I’d say it was due to the lack of players engaging in PvP, seeing as the FotM builds would just dominate, but admittedly I’m not a PvPer, so I can’t say one way or the other. As I said though I do know there’s a PvP community. No idea how active it is though.

The interaction for infinite damage using Elemental Aspect and an Infusion Jewel was fixed in the hotfix #3 on July 9th.

The inifinite Strongrooms exploit has not been fixed yet. That one is not sorceror specific as far as I have read. However, it is an exploit that could be considered breaking the terms and risking a ban.

The Sorc is still fun to play without the inifinite damage (which I did not use). It does not one shot everything. Astaroth on T4, and several of the lair bosses still take a little time to kill. So far, still running pit 75 as highest with glyphs at 67 and no min/maxed gear. Splitting time between 2 other alts though at paragon 240.

The pvp zones should require a loading screen so it could be its own shard. Load it up with pvpers!!!
