So many nails were already “creatively” hammered into the coffin that the developers prepared for Diablo 4.
But I think Season 8 could really hammer the last nail in the coffin.
Why should chars suddenly have the power of the bosses?
→ Makes no sense.
Why did they decide to do a season about bosses?
→ No one wanted that.
Once developers said they wanted everyone to have the opportunity to reach highest difficulty tier 4. Now they suddenly say they want only 10% of players to even reach tier 4.
→ Why? Makes no sense.
“We the developers want players to …”
→ “We the players want something that you developers ignore for so long, such as a loot filter, such as unlimited tempering, such as less RNG.”
I really thought this was an April Fools joke when the developers said that players could now achieve boss powers. Especially that burrow would be the main boss power of Duriel. First of all to burrow is not the main boss power of Duriel. And second it is simply ridiculous that chars would have the power to burrow. April Fools in March!
imagine all this time you’ve been devoted to the light, respecting the church, and praising divine power. now diablo 4 lets you witness Mephisto in god form, practice witchcraft pentagram, and feel the pull of demonic power. the way the game draws players into its dark themes is impressive.
They seen all the chatter about MORE bosses so they decided to add 1 and tweak the numbers on the rest lol. If they wanted a season of bosses, should of been 5 at least with real fights not another punching bag.
Many will either skip S8 or move on very quickly but there will be enough that play it won’t be the last nail in the coffin. They sure are making an effort to do so imo.
They do what attracts new players in the hopes of making a sale. That is what drives the decisions. Until what is requested fits that metric it will not happen. Mediocrity is safer than even a calculated risk. That is about all I expect for at least the new 3 or 4 more seasons if not more. I hope they prove me wrong.
I would like for this company to try something new but at the same I can why they don’t take risk. I mean as much as game creation cost these days one bad risk can destroy a studio or cause massive job loss(though granted that is the fault of businesses chasing that mighty Dollar).
Unless of course every here is ok with games such as this staying in the past like indie games(not the ones that are funded by big publishers)I don’t think we’re going to see Blizz take too many risks with D4…least not any time soon. I don’t know I’m just guessing.

Just when you think they have reached rock bottom with previous comments like the game is in a good spot (while endless duping and no balance) or most characters are good in T1 (T1 who cares!) they go ahead and say hold my then say they only want 10% of us in T4.
