Season 8 is a serious setback from 7

This has to be the worst season to date. I can go through and tell everything, but it’s already been listed a 100x. Bosses and bugs are just bad. Season journey, worse. Reliquary EXTREMELY bad. The boss mechanics are just… wow. broken bad because they bug out a lot. Nothing has gotten better, I wanted to try with my wife and see if it has. But, no. I really don’t know if I can play much anymore. When the game started going in the right direction, they came up with this train wreck of a season and made it so bad, that I don’t think its repairable in the public eye. One of the fun bugs with a Necro, your adds dont hit certain bosses sometimes, just stand there. The Harbinger fight, they won’t help you unleash the guy in the middle. They will NOT attack it under any circumstances. Lilith is beyond broken. Other bosses

Season 8 has actually the biggest player drop off than any previous seasons I quit playing for over a month ago. I’m playing D3 season 35 now and that’s what D4 season 8 should have been and not the slugfest it has been but don’t worry from the look of season 9 it will be even worse.

For you? Because otherwise we need evidence if you mean the player base as a whole.

Edit: For clarity purposes I’m not saying this persons opinion is invalidated, just that they are only speaking for themselves.

My evidence says that season 8 has the biggest player surge, seeing play for over 3 billion new accounts. We must compare notes to resolve this discrepancy, unless you are gonna say you pulled those “facts” out of thin air.

But seriously, i think S8 was a generally good step with everything except bosses. Would like less of my time wasted with mandatory immune phases and/or ultra-crap loot

Edit: im being sarcastic, i dont even think peak WoW (most popular MMO ever) ever broke 10 million subscribers, so a 3 billion addition is absolutely ludicrous and im just making light of a dubious claim

yeah i agree my hrs spent in-game decreased.

kek you forgot to mention pits, glyph leveling, tempering, masterworking

the game is missing a mmo camera, and seasonal journey rewards missing from eternal realm.

As much as i hate glyph levelling, it presents a way to just min-max, so its not game breaking to not max to 100. While some changes to temper/MW would be nice, i cant see it happening since what exists now is considered “balanced”.

Nothing will shake the feeling that weighting is being employed, regardless if it is or not

oh forgot to mention nerf to drops like runes n gear.

i dont care about pit pushing. i do care bout getting glyphs maxed

Yes, I agree that Season Seven was simply awful. The worst ever so far in D4. Thankfully we have Season Eight that put us back on track and hopefully continue to pull in that direction in Season Nine.

Been playing S35 on D3 for several weeks now after running out of steam with my S9 Sorcerer. It should not be so hard to take what’s been good with D4 and building on it positively. It’s like they’ve learned nothing from D3

S8 was not good for me.

If this is the direction they choose to go, then I’ll be taking a break for quite some time.

This isn’t what I think any Diablo game is supposed to feel like.

S8 kept me playing far longer than S7, so I guess that means I think S7 was the worst.

I’ll be skipping S9. We’ll see about S10.

Was season eight good? Nope.

Still not as bad as season one.

Actually s7 was the worst season but it is a matter of preference I guess. Game is definitely going in the right direction.

Same thing as all seasons but you actually cant stand in fire and you do have some boss interactions instead of them dying in 1 hit. When you’re geared which doesnt take long its the same cakewalk.

Drops feel better, runes actually feel valuable. Tho I dont trade so there is that lol. But the game feels like there is progression which it hasnt had in a very long time.

id personally like to see your statistics on that.

from the little i know here, its that quite some people are crying their eyes out. But they do that ever season. then there is a MAJORITY!!! (yea, im using that term now, it is so easily used anyway here  ) That are happy with d4 being more grindy and more difficult.

s9 might be a season where ill buy a battlepass again, to show my support for the direction. I stopped doing that with s7, and didnt do it in s8, just cause i know how fast blizzard changes their minds.

on the harbringer fight i agree btw, i reported that as well in the bug report forums.
What is your minionmancer bug on lilith?

Please don’t do that. It will make them think the new BP system is acceptable. It’s a horrible value compared to the previous format. Significantly less rewards than prior battle passes.

There’s better ways to show support for in game changes, including posting here.

i dont disagree on the value, but at the end of the day, money talks. Posting here is good and fine, but you know just as much as me, how often they listen to the “community”, which then screams anyway.

So yea, for me its a “money talks” kind of mindset for the near future.

From my perspective, s7 lead them to change something, and i believe that players like me reacted similar to it. i could be totally wrong of course, but i mean, we arent talking about a fortune of an investment. we are talking about a battlepass. I do purchase those in any game that keeps my interest for a while. I actually would have even got the s8 one to be honest, if i didnt want to “punish” their s7 and blaster mode decisions ^^.

On a side note, am i not an awesome white knight ;P? (just a joke, i really like that the forums became quite a bit more constructive compared to back then) ^^

Because you work for Blizzard and have all of the data?

Season 7 was quite bad.
The only thing that could be worse is like a bad mobile game.

But I love socialist battlepass that gives me 200 plat while someone else pays for it. :hamster:

One shot most everything on T-16, have all of the set item’s and level legendary gems in the first weekend?

Yep, and start progressing up the GR. Still being able to get primal gear, vaults and a cow level :stuck_out_tongue:

Course everyone’s taste are different. But s35 and still has a great player base and really if you believe some recently posted numbers, not that much different than d4.

For a game that’s 12+ years old…. Probably shouldn’t knock it.
