Season 8 - I like it thank you Blizzard

S8 is much better than S7. There is much more class balance this time. Thanks Blizz for much improvment and good direction.

Actually was talking to a friend about pits a few moments ago and checked the leaderboards. It indeed doesnt look all that bad. Curious what the promised balance patches will bring.

And i agree, while i still wish for a lot more stuff, especially when it comes to slowing down leveling - s8 is a nice win for me as well compared to s7.

What about it do you like much better? Your opening post is rather vague. As far as class balancing. I do not agree as there again is only like 6 meta builds and the rest are on the Low A Tier, High B tier of class builds that really struggle. And if one wants to push in Pits or farm Torment IV Bosses comfortably. You are pretty much stuck trying to farm gear for only those 6 or so Meta S Tier builds to do so. I am one who usually puts in over a few hundred hours per season and I do go pretty hard. However, this season seems to be more geared toward top tier players and or streamers and not the majority of the Diablo Fan base.

Just a few issues I have are

  • Boss fights are over tuned. Long immunity phases and unfair cheap one-shots mechanics that are extremely hard to avoid. (looking at Andariel for this one). The window to avoid said attacks is very limited even if you are super quick and have amazing mobility
  • T4 difficulty = inflated stats, not smart mechanics. Defense/resistance feels meaningless.
  • Game forces meta play. WhenEvery class should have 3–4 viable builds for endgame.
  • I Can’t even play with casual friends anymore, they’re not enjoying it.

Id disagree there. Of course they got it a little harder, playing B tier this season myself tho, it clearly shows that if you do your homework and know your stuff, you do just fine. If one refuses to get better and learn, well, i guess copying meta builds is what theyd do anyway.

What state are you at in the game so far though?

t4, only part im missing is T4 lilith, which i dont need for the journey, but still want it.

Pit is currently 85. got my Ohm rune now so i assume ill get to 90 as my minions will finally get to enjoy their warcry, eventually 95 later today.

i mean, i agree that A and B tiers got it a little harder for sure, all im saying is that if you know what you are doing, youll do just fine.

I for sure wont be able to replicate that on a rogue for example, as its really only the necromancer i know inside out.

Well, then that great. I am around the same myself. But if you and I are playing like that regardless of the Class Build Tier. That definitely puts you above the average casual player. I really don’t think people like us can really say too much about it as we are able to invest more time into how we play. Seems we are also more capable of understanding more about our class and build we run as well. I lost a lot of friends this season that stopped playing because they are pretty casual. I could help them catch up, but they just lost the motivation. And it sucks, because now I am stuck primarily playing by myself lol.

well, eventually im lucky, since im a pretty big networker i got a pretty solid clan i play with, and that i help a lot, while they also help me. God sometimes people are breaking their backs if i need a rune for example ^^

Of course that puts us above the casual player, but i mean in the end, is that a bad thing? of course us knowing stuff gives us advantages.

no way it’s better than S7
It’s not bad as someone people say it is, not the worst,
maybe Top 3~4, definately not better than S7

Add one to the handful of game good posts versus the dozens of game bad posts.

The forums are a very small sample of the playerbase but it still tells me all I need to know. Your mileage may vary.
