Season 5 will come out on august the sixth, and expansion will launch on october the eighth… so season 5 will only lasts for 2 months or those 2 months will be have no season at all waiting for expansion to come out?
Lets be realistic the Xpac will get pushed back.

i kinda assume that s5 will taverse into the xpac. Could easily see the season being connected to the VoH intro.
Have they announced a season 5 start date? All I’ve seen is the season 4 end date. They could have other events between end of s4 and expansion, or possibly even extend s4. Who knows?
true, some story traversing event could be a thing as well, instead of a season.
Maybe expansion is 1 month eternal realm exclusive and it joins season rotation on season 6 and onwards
They’ve already mentioned that they are playing S5 internally, so I think there will be one. It’s possible it will be only 2 months, but once the expansion comes out there will presumably be 4 realms: eternal, seasonal, expansion eternal, and expansion seasonal (plus hardcore versions of each). I could see them only adding the expansion eternal realm for the first month and having the expansion seasonal realm not go live until S6.
Then again, they could also let people make expansion seasonal characters using S5, with only a month to play that season (which will be helpful if there are some big bugs).
