For Season 3, I urge the developers to consider a few improvements outlined below. I’ll do my best to keep this thread concise.
1. Character Customization
I was disappointed by the very limited amount of available faces, hairstyles, and character options in general. The developers should expand these options while also adding the ability to change hair/beard style post character creation.
2. Poor Economics
Gold is too scarce and always in poverty. The bulk of our gold comes from selling items as very little gold is dropped, leading to a lot of downtime of looting and selling items after dungeons. Increase gold rewards for all activities and maybe even add new golden chest called “Treasure Trove” that can drop significant amount of gold and gems.
3. Vendor Prices
Gear available at vendors for purchase contains stats that are slightly better than my current gear, but the insane cost makes it too cost prohibitive. The developers should lower the vendor prices to be more reasonable and also increase the sell price of gems, seems way too low.
4. Treasure Goblins
Treasure Goblins need to drop ALOT of gold and add variants, such as gem hoarders, collectors w/ crafting materials, etc. Goblins should be heard before seen like their laugh in D3 which was exciting. Also, add The Vault, or Greed’s Realm, where the Treasure Goblins hoard the riches found across the world.
5. Affix Pool
I don’t want to get into a lengthy discussion on itemization, but I urge the developers to consider improving the affix pool, such as:
- Chance To Cast Skills On Striking/When Struck/When You Kill An Enemy
- Damage vs. Demons/Undead/Beast
- Poison Length Reduction
- Cannot Be Frozen
- Prevent Monster Heal
- Freezes/Slows Target
- Elemental Damage
- Extra Gold From Monsters
- O-skills w/ No Class Restrictions
- Charged Skills (e.g. Teleport, Summon Wolves)
Also, reduce most of the conditional affixes (close/distant/stunned) as they are largely uninteresting and inflate pool of affixes.
6. Low-Level Uniques
Developers should add low-level uniques, such as: Spire of Lazarus, Shadowfang, Crushflange, Gull Dagger, Wizendraw, Chance Guards, Magefist, Biggin’s Bonnet, Hotspur, Goldwrap, to name a few. Not all uniques need to be end-game items, but rather some sprinkled in that you find along the way while leveling your character. Cool things like this adds a bit of flair to leveling and these uniques can be found at any stage.
7. Cellars
Cellars are mostly underwhelming and often times skipped. Consider adding more depth and variety to cellars with more incentives to explore them. Good spot to add new golden chests called “Treasure Trove” that can drop significant amount of gold and gems.
8. Loot Filters
Loot filters would do wonders in terms of gameplay and immersion. An ARPG focus is on the item hunt and benefits greatly from not seeing a hundred white items on ground.
9. Stash Tabs
Consider adding (1) one more character specific stash tab, which would fix almost all stash problems. I often lose motivation to play entirely because of inventory management.
10. Experience
Lastly, the most troubling issue is leveling is far too fast now and trivializes the experience. It should take several days to hit level 60, not several hours. Please note I do not want this game to be a dull grind either. We need to find a healthy balance so leveling plays a central part of the journey.
