Season 14 patch notes. (Sorc)

Seeing what has transpired for the upcoming changes are more like Hotfixes than seasonal patch updates and I’m disappointed.

I’m No Meta Master Blaster player like the Livestream players.

There are currently so many oversighted bugs plaguing the game that are either not functioning at all or are exploited bugs to such outlandish degrees that those builds only become the focus to anything “enjoyable”/“playable”.

Legendary node Fundamental release on sorc isn’t working from what i can tell as an example and no one talks about it or cares, except for anything unstable currents and lightning based/meta.

Nerfing Unstable currents and the node Boundless was expected, but nerfing Winterglass unique in conjunction to the Current Meta of Sorc gameplay indirectly nerfs other playstyles that aren’t on par to the current meta.

The rest of the Notes that seem to “buff” other aspects or uniques for the next season like for example the Meteor Helm Starfall Coronet going from 50-70% to 80-100% is not a “Next Season content patch update” its more inline as a Hot Fix Patch that should be changed/Fixed like 2 weeks ago.

Now the “Seasonal Content updates”. We are Doing the Realm walker stuff again for what the 3rd time it seems, Nothing new there. Uniques can now be Mythics, So Primals From D3 gotcha.

The most insulting thing that you Blizzard continues to do to us your loyal Playerbase is insult our intelligence of rehashed Content and HotFixes being implemented as Seasonal Content updates.

I would like to have Diverse Playable Builds equal to “meta” builds, I’m tired of ignoring 90%-95% of my favorite class because there is one maybe 2 Meta builds that do Trillions of insane damage compared to a build Like Frozen Orb focused is stuck doing 1/300th of comparable damage to metas.

I beg of you please bring up ignored playstyles to meta style levels of gameplay. Do some Actual Class balancing.

I’m more mad about the fact that Habacalva’s 3 piece is staying the same. That crap dropping and then killing me because I lose 50% toughness is bananas.

Agreed.

The Oversight of issues like this has my feathers ruffled aswell. HotFixes need to happen first before a so called “Seasonal Content Update” to happen.

Our jimmies should all be collectively rustled. They are neglecting, ignoring and leaving alone way too much. Completely incompetent.

While we have PTR, sadly, most of the input is discounted as it seems and fingers plug ears while chanting “la la la, I can’t hear you”. I always end up maining a sorc (regardless of meta) because they are so enjoyable and synergetic to the play style I desire. It seems that S14 will kill that so far from what I’ve read and digested. I reserve judgement until I see the final product.

Yes. I’m in agreement to this. Once again I feel like something needs to be done about class balancing as a whole for Multiple class builds can truly earn their spot in the limelight. Not just a sole focus on 1 or 2 Super OP builds because something is overtuned or broken. Class balance fixes and bug fixes should never be “Seasonal Content updates” EVER!!!

The dev’s only listen to streamers the only nerf should be unstable currents rest shouldn’t happen you know they haven’t even test. Mythics being random stupid even unique’s still stupid why season 1 and 2 we had 4 random affixes for legendaries community hated it. Yes we have cube but who enjoys standing there 4 hrs a day they play i don’t. As for sorc to squishy fire buff’s could be hotfixed lol. What about cold or ice hmmm it sucks dev’s. Just a bunch of dev’s that don’t know their player base or what the game truyly needs balance which means looking at the crappy skills for each class once those r fixed and playable then you nerf the strongest builds not the opposite dumbasses.

with all those nerfs I wont spend a penny on this game

Nerfing Winter is a good thing, making it more a conjuration item then a all rounder. So other uniques can shine too.
But you usually did not take Winter for its dmg alone, you took it to provide max MS, DR, Manareg and dmg. It is simply too much utility combined with equal dmg other aspects provide.

PPl try to think for once and stop looking only at pure dmg values.
for example Hydra amulet was complete trash compared to winter on a Hydra build, now you have options.

And just to give u a bit perspective on my conj build i have 11 Hydras 12 LS and 6 Familiars out on Multitarget, on ST its a bit less Hydras

Thats 174%x Multi and i get crapload of manareg and DR and MS
A hydra amulet gives me 120%x and makes hydras core which provide another few dmg increases if u wear some core stuff. NO dr no mana reg no MS. And i cant spawn extra Hydras with other core skills, like Winter can.

They should have limited the number of stacks to 8-10 or something and kept the damage at 5-6% per stack. This way, the item would be a good all rounder for a conjuration build without feeling forced to use Unstable Currents to get high stacks, or use certain variants to maximize the number of concurrent conjurations.

It will simply do lower damage for everyone now, without addressing that some builds/elements can spawn them much faster and maintain higher stacks compared to others.

Also, they really need to look into the other Hydras variants because Behemoth having a much higher conjuration limit but a CD means you’re forced to use Fractured Winterglass to spawn them, but also that they can have 10-11 Hydras around, while it’s not the case with the others (unless you dump your mana very fast and regen it fast too and spawn them through enchantment). I could be wrong, but the other variants do not seem to benefit from Fractured Winterglass as much if they cannot go over their natural limit.

nah that would be bad, this way it is better. Still retains a good utility base for builds that really want those manareg/MS and DR and im playing one of these. Ur solution would kill it.

Also you are wrong about Behemoth Hydra. i spawn em with the enchant, which is very smooth, and why i need high mana sustain to spam expensive Spells. I use Bl for that in my shock conjurations variant, but i still want as much hydras as possible for the utility and extra dmg from winter.

I mean, you can obviously spawn them with the enchant, but I meant, if you want a high sustain of Behemoths, you pretty much need Winterglass for that mana regen (and DR, and damage) and autocast to bypass the cooldown.

The other variants (at least the burning one) get jack squat. You can only spawn 2 by default with the aspect, and Winterglass won’t spawn more, so you need the enchant and a high mana dump (and thus regen) which you might not get without high conjuration sustain.

Keeping Winterglass as is also doesn’t make it less of a all-rounder and more of a conjuration item : it stays the same, but with lower damage and a lot of DR and utility for those who can spam spells and maintain over 20 conjurations. It’s not as good as before, but still most probably BiS for those who can spam conjurations. 60% [ x ] damage, 60 DR, 20 mana per sec and 100% movement speed or more on a single item, without counting the affixes? That’s a lot of damage and utility from a single item, and with more mana comes more spam, more conjurations, more stacks. It’s not entirely uncapped, but it favors one playstyle and some particular variants over the others, pigeonholing us towards the use of that item.

By increasing the base values (including DR and regen) and putting on a cap, they could more control over what the item can achieve at max values.

With the 30% boost in power from mythic versions of this item? It’s going to be insane in DR, utility and almost just as good as before in damage.

At least they’re buffing Ophidian Iris, but it won’t be as versatile as Winterglass. Hydras needing a 180% damage boost through a Unique shows how weirdly it sits in terms of damage without Winterglass, and they cannot adjust the base value of the skill without buffing the builds who would use winterglass.

30% DR is 50% of your overall toughness? :man_facepalming:

There really should be a license required to post on this forum…

If there was a license required to post I think you’d fail it.

30% DR can be a lot if you don’t have a lot to begin with. And not only do you lose that, you also lose 1500 Life on Hit. That is a lot, especially when paired with Temerity, creating constant barriers.

I think I ended the season with something like 500 Life on Hit before Habacalva, a well-rolled Tyrael’s Might, Harlequin Crest, Disobedience, and whatever from my paragon nodes. That’s a lot of DR. Dropping 30% DR isn’t quite half but it still plummets. I’m like 90% sure a ton of my deaths were because that fell off, my DR dropped notably, my barriers suddenly couldn’t keep up, and then the next hit kills me. If I can’t rely on that LoH or DR because it’ll periodically drop off, what am I building for, and why even have it?

It’s especially terrible at the start of a boss fight, or when it’s one of you primary sources of DR before you get much else.

individual hydras, or are you just counting the number of heads?

no check the hydra skill again when taking the middle node

The cooldown hydra Node seems to have a bug(if not intended) to have 11 hydras like Lightning spear having 13(aspect) of them.

57 nerfs later maybe they will finally get winterglass right…maybe.

quadrillion damage that sorc currently having is insane, every hit is like a quarter of the sun goes supernova hitting the earth.

nerf every thing back to vanilla is the way.

this is the way.
