Season 13 + Expansion Patch Notes Request

Blizzard can we get patch notes and expansion feature facts/details to see if season 13 and expansion is really worth our time?

All the media content released so far has just been pretty pictures/video and really providing no real tangible information on the mathematics of all these tree/cube/charms/war plan icons really do.

For example, the sorcerer, will I have core skills worth using? Will fire and ice builds be competitive? Will any other electric builds that do not revolver around crackling energy be competitive?

Right now all I see from the media is flashy icons and a warlock class where you can drive flaming skulls around like matchbox cars.

I’m not complaining either. I’m just asking for what is a standard better business bureau compliance policy and united states consumer product disclosure law. For example (Bait-and-Switch) laws.

The normal pattern is we get the patch notes a week before any patch. Don’t see why this would be any different.

They already said that they would have an expansion live stream in April.

Another live stream is really not going to provide detailed information on any skills/gear/etc… Looking for notes to really see whats under the hood mathematically.

You’re asking for something to be delivered ahead of when you already know to expect it… in a place that you should already know that the request won’t be seen by anyone except other players.

Good news… you’ll have all the data in May and can make your decision then.

I mean, the variants alone are making S13/LoH worth it IMO, but they’re probably not going to divulge every skill/variant and damage % with patch notes, and if they did, it probably wouldn’t mean much because we don’t know how exactly most variants will interact/be used.

Just like it happened with the Paladin, I prefer discovering and learning on the spot while playing than getting everything handed to me though, but maybe that’s just me. I’ll use whatever class/skills combinations I think is fun and if the Paladin can give us a clue about the things to come with the other classes, it will be easier to mix and match skills/variants with generic aspects compared to the quite restrictive list of skill specific aspects the “older” classes have.

I actually am surprised at the lack of any preview 3 weeks out.

The most important thing will be the sets. Apparently, they will be extremely strong. We’ll see if we have options for all builds and abilities. Or do we fear a major imbalance?

So far, it seems tied to damage type (E.g. Burning damage, damage over time, etc.) or entire skills categories (e.g. Pyromancy skills or Marksman skills) which is a much better option than being tied to some particular skill. There might be some that are tied to particular key passives/abilities (e.g. Paladin’s Judgment, Rogue’s Victimize, Necromancer’s Affliction), but I hope that there’s no skill specific set per se otherwise we’re back to square 1 with FOTM builds and incessant nerfs/buffs to said skills every season.

Being generic means it can be used with different skills and variants instead of adding another multiplicative damage increase to particular skill, something that is much harder to balance than the base damage of a skill/variant. Sure, some Sets will probably benefit more from some skills, but it would be nice if most people can mix and match to their liking.

They’re getting rid of most, if not every single skill-specific Legendary aspect to prevent the neverending nerfs/buffs of particular skill/aspects, so I don’t know why they would add Sets that would bring back that particular issue… but here again, it’s Blizzard and they might do just that.

You’re talking about the power of the charms. I’m talking about the combination of them. We’ll have various powers like shadow clones always active, a bear as a companion, etc.

Here we are, two weeks out and still no patch notes to see if blizzard did anything with making other classes competitive. Just all warlock hype… I’m not buying LOH if all I’m getting is an overpowered warlock and the rest of the classes do not have at least two competitive builds. The way I see streamers and IGN trickling LOH propaganda its looking like all we are really getting is an overpowered warlock.

I bet you do, why would you wait, wont you buy it eventually?

I know all of us are bored. We need more copium. :syringe:

Hang in there we will be complaining about not being able to log in soon enough.

For the past year I’ve been playing the same builds every season because most classes only have one competitive build. If all I’m getting is a warlock as a flashy thing to play with then I’m not bothering. Personally I am no longer going to reward blizzard with this type of game development/market strategy where they do the minimum and then flash something shiny to get people to buy in or keep playing.

Option1. They tell you, you dont like you dont play

option2. they wait as long as they can or not at all to make people log in to see what’s changed.

They did the exact same thing with SoD kept it very vague knowing damn well that they were done with it after scarlet raid just to keep people playing a little longer, blizz loves money more than they love the community

I’m not a business major but even I can see that one

Having this information assumes that S13 wont be riddled with bugged interactions. Planning does f*** all when your planned builds have something blocking your aspects from working as intended or not doing the correct damage.

Sounds prudent. Why don’t you just do that? LoH will be on sale by Christmas and there’ll have been two more seasons between now and then to bug fix to your liking. I cannot stress enough that nobody is forcing you to spend money on D4.

Whether it is or is not, seems like you are the type to come and complain regardless.

And yes you will get patch notes before the launch. 1 week before most likely. But you likely knew that as that is hiw Blizzard has operated for at least a couple decades now.

they’re not going to give a breakdown of everything so folks can just spreadsheet to see what is the best before it releases…

I just want to know what I’m buying. Its like buying adobe photoshop. I can go look up what it can do, take a look at its tools and features, demo the program and test its capabilities. In the end I know what I’m buying.

I’m not complaining, I’m just asking for what is a standard better business bureau compliance policy and united states consumer product disclosure law.
