Diablo 4 Season 11 is expected to bring - Fairly large system changes," potentially including updates to Masterworking, Tempering, and the skill tree.
Source based Diablo 4’s road map
So Forum members if you could only pick, 3 things (ONLY 3), what would they be?
Despite the rumors that’s expected to be big, some still may be disappointed.
For me,
Bigger/better skill tree (like POE2, but not THAT Ga dang Big). I want a Skill cypress tree, not Jungle.
Just for more build variety. Even though Skill tree IS something the Dev’s are gonna work on via this “road map”, chances are they may not do it right, or players expectations may be too high and they’ll be disappointed anyway. Some skills could even lead into other character skills a little bit (not a whole lot I suppose).
See sorcerer throw down traps with elemental properties like Fire, Ice and Lightning, or have Barbarian summon a Gollum of some sort.
More Classes. I do believe we will get some kind of Board and Shield…something, and that’s good! Not particular my fantasy character I’d choose to play as but it’s good. I’d also like to see a Wizard ( A better version then Diablo 3 ), A Sharp shooter, a Gladiator, A Priest/Healer of some sort.
And I know some of these classes would be like another “Version” of the main class but I’m sure the dev’s (hell people on the forum HERE has) think of skills/moves to keep them 100% separate from the main class.
A Grand total of 10 classes would be great (though that is over shooting what’s to truly be expected anyway) but it would be great.
And 3.
Though I can pick itemization or tempering/master-working etc etc I’m honestly fine with that. I want better/more stable connection. (though I’m sure part of this issue can be more on my end, I don’t have any kind of connection issues with Anything, Any Game other then Diablo 4.
End Game, as vague as that is, for me… the continuation of playing your character with out getting bored by actually having something endless and worth while to achieve (whether that would be tree of whispers, n/m dungeons, somehow making the legion events more relevant… basic in game Activities that would really reward you ) would be great.
I suppose an example, You’d have to beat 20 of the same tree of whisper’s to 100% Guarantee some random 4**** item of your choice? ?
What would be y’alls top 3 you want to see? Or expect to see?
Haters need not respond.
dang, I didn’t think I’d write this much… Lol Thanks for the idea Iggi
Regarding the skill tree, I would be surprised if they dont take notes from Diablo 3 on how skills can be transformative. I am not a fan of D3, but the game handled this aspect very well, and since the interviews indicated something in that direction, I have some hope. Imo, they should combine the D3 system with the skill leveling and something new.
That aside, I think that the paragon system is pretty safe to receive a rework, as it hasnt changed much in a long time. There is not enough depth to justify the necessary amount of node clicking, and going through the boards is also nothing (casual) players are eager to deal with. I assume they will make it much smaller, at least.
Next, I predict that the jewelry and socket system will get a larger update to compensate for the Masterworking and Tempering changes. If so, then runes could move to another interface. I hope they do something here as gems can actually be really cool if designed properly. D4 gems are not designed properly at all.
I would like to see Aspects, once earned, to be account permanent, no longer having to farm them again and again every season. This would be nice for Tempers too, but I don’t want to ask for too much
Factions, major (i.e., Team Inarius, Team Lilith, Team Rathma), medium (i.e., the regions and the various institutions within those regions such as the the Horadrim, the Druids Underworld, etc), and minor (i.e., all the cities and towns) each having specialized equipment, quests and - above all else - meaningful rivalries (meaning if you sign up with some groups, you’re unable to sign up with others).
Of course, this’ll never happen - but I can wish.
Speaking of wishes - Donan’s punk death needs rehabilitation. I mean, it ought to have been his son calling to him from the pillar that draws his attention, not a random moment of complete and unforgivable idiocy.
A skill tree rework is desperately needed along with a legendary aspect rework and a unique item rework.
There are so many class powers that need one or more legendary aspects to be viable. Some need a specific unique. Some of these need to be incorporated into the base skill tree to free up slots for different aspects and uniques that actually transform the ability.
I barely have much of any expectations for season 11 and largely the only thing I would hope to see, if the changes has been done, to see each of the distinct classes we have to retain the integrity of their theme once the dust has settled.
That is if I am still around for that as largely I feel like might be sipping tea and blasting away elsewhere for entertainment.
It is about time we get a stable game. Just stop messing everything every few seasons.
The way I see it is that all those “big” changes will lead to the exact same result in terms of build and built variety but just have us follow a different path to get there.
Maybe try to bring new content if that’s what the community needs instead of reshuffling stuff.
