I would not be surprised if this has been asked for several times for tempering. That stated, it obviously has not been changed .
Therefore, asking again should happen until someone pays attention.
Some recipes still have four RNG options. Those with four options can use the single re tempering with ease and still not get what is required. It makes sense to have at LEAST +1 extra scroll which means two re-temper attempts. Three would be perfect (+2 more), but I’m not greedy.
Do not ask, do not get and nothing changes.
Sure, make a Loot Hunting based game less about playing the game and more about getting what a player wants with less effort and beat the game a.s.a.p.
They already increased it. You get 1 additional roll per GA plus they added the scroll of restoration. Sometimes you dont get what you want completing an item and thats okay, you just find another.
To be fair, we went from conditional affix bloat to oversimplified itemization.
The tempering system causes frustration because with ~10 attempts players expect to get the result they want. Personally I would be fine with one attempt or infinite attempts. I have bricked a few items and with the current system it’s quite demotivating. If there was only one tempering attempt it would be easier to accept that I didn’t get the roll I want.
All the guy is asking for is a few more tries to get the roll he wants and you jokers go off on something mostly unrelated. And you wonder why people refer to you as they do.
If it was actual RNG it would be less of an issue. I have had it the same roll from a choice of 4 every time including scroll a dozen times or more in one season. True RNG would do this once a season MAYBE. There is an RNG component but it is far from true RNG.
Secondly, IF you could find another decent piece of gear within reasonable time and effort to replace a bricked item it would also be less of an issue. 5 streamers and 3 forum users may not mind it taking weeks to find a replacement but the rest of us do. But let’s keep flaming the person asking for something simple rather than addressing the real problems.
And in your words. You don’t have to use the scroll if you don’t want. How does it affect you?
At what end? Tenpering makes it easier to get what you want.
I completely agree. I dont mind bloated affixes as long as they are interesting. Loot 1.0 didnt have interesting affixes and loot 2.0 is oversimplifed D3 dog water with MS/Vit/other.
lol you mean hasn’t? yes n no. would be nice to use another temper scroll because bricking a good item like a 2 GA amulet is horrible, or even 1 GA perfect amulet.
btw can i get a frosty pop?
lol after years of dog water they came back for more. love it
If it was such an issue (also me mention the Echo chamber about it on this forum), The dev’s more then likely would of done something a long Long time ago.
People complained, they got the stupid scroll of restoration, AND if the item you want to temper has a GA on it you have more of a chance. It’s been like that for over half a year. For now it’s their solution to the Issue. They have addressed it and this is what it is.
You can complain, The OP can complain, other people can complain until their frustrations make them quit (which I hope it does), but it’s the way it is Now, and continually being upset about it hoping that it Changes to what you think is Good for “you” will only lead to anger/disappointment.
But that’s a you thing, not a me thing.
Asking for a few more tries… Play the game, there is your “few more tries”.

Frostylaroo is a content creator that makes videos mostly mocking the ARPG industry for it’s failures. Every couple of months someone will goad him into making a video covering D4 which reminds me this game exists.
There’s a lot of flaws in D4 that I would overlook if only to play the game for the good action combat. For me, the way Tempering is implemented just isn’t something I’ll engage with. So every couple of months I just come back, see if it’s changed at all, and grumble if it hasn’t.
As a side bonus, this annoys a couple very dedicated posters who are exactly the kind of consumers that Blizzard wants to have.
I have no expectations this will change, it only takes a couple minutes out of my day to check on something that has a passing mild interest for me. After a couple days, I’ll disappear for few more months. I’m not “coming back” or playing the game until change happens that suitably alleviate this gambling mechanic. Preferably in the direction of actual crafting like a blacksmith might be expected to do.
asking for more scrolls is like asking for more fire extinguisher for your home to handle all the fires spawning cause your cables are all in a desolate state.
I dunno man, we can ask for 20 more fire extinguisher or
It seems they went away and did something else with their life and came back to see if it got better, and you are still here, and you are calling them a cat potato? Just an observation.
