Scroll of escape is meant to be automatically used when you log out of Diablo 4 and it’s been stated multiple times. Today I was in a dungeon at full health and butcher spawned I had 4 scrolls of escape on my character and promptly pressed escape and exited the game. The process hung and when I returned the character was dead. The game did not use the scroll of escape, and it looks like the process instead hung rather then logging out when clicking exit. Can someone please look into this and make the exit button issue a quick disconnect or not state the the scrolls are used automatically when you exit the game? I just lost 8 hours of progression because of this.

Many disconnects have been happening on HC and this has not saved anyone I know at all. Friends around me protecting me from stuff and when I log back in I have the SAME AMOUNT of scrolls and they do get used at all. I DC’d (entire internet went out at my place from a storm) at level 45 before the final boss and died because of this too.

That is not how scroll of escape works. It does NOT work automatically when you “log out” of the game. It works instantly when you actually consume the scroll like a potion. Pro tip, ad the scroll of escape to your emote wheel and assign a hot key. You must be carying at least one scroll for the hotkey to work. I do have a recent of me using the hotkey scroll of escape on hardcore when the butcher appeared in Tier 3 - it’s on my twitch currently (AmberT_Diablo) sorry I curse a bit on this clip!
