Screen Flicker Since Update

Issue:
Since I Diablo 4 updated this morning, version 0.8.1.39858 the following occurs:

  • Screen flicker between the Windows Desktop and the game.
  • This issue can be replicated in windowed mode and full screen
  • This issue can be replicated after PC reboot
  • Sound stutters like program is losing modal focus
-The game will ultimately crash or halt the system with in minutes of play

Troubleshooting:

  • Latest NVIDIA Drivers have been reinstalled cleanly
  • Monitor cable has been replaced
  • Repair performed on Diablo 4 install.

Noteworthy:

  • Yesterday, the game ran without this issue
  • The only change to the system was the D4 “mini” update installed this morning via BattleNet.

I have read the sticky concerning this issue but wanted to add it happens in Windowed Mode.

Thank you, despite this, I have had a great time with the beta.

Have you tried V-Sync or disabling G-Sync? I use to have a flickering issue in wow and couldn’t figure it out until I turned off G-Sync one day and it stopped.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I have, even dropped the res from 165 to 144Hz and also disabled XMP the problem still occurs.

Probably should have mentioned I disabled background apps too and even disabled wallpaper in windows (changes every 5 minutes.)

Were you playing in full screen before today without flickering issues? They force disabled full screen in an update last night because some people were crashing when alt tabbing.

Ahhh, good to know and thanks. Yes, I played almost the entire day yesterday without any problems and no screen flicker until after the update this morning.

Yep, I don’t get why they didn’t just tell people experiencing crashes to play in windowed full screen because forcing windowed full screen onto people has caused problems for some that didn’t exist yesterday.

Maybe will get lucky and a fix will be released, fingers & toes crossed
