I’ve put together my barrage inner sight rogue and given her my Scoundrel’s Leathers armour.
I’m noticing that the number of traps spawned from this unique is feeling far short of what is written on the unique’s description. So, I decided to record some testing and go through frame-by-frame and enter in the data into a spreadsheet.
See my frame-by-frame testing results below.
Build specs:
- Barrage (with bow) + Inner Sight, with branching volleys aspect on amulet
- Exposure Key Passive
- Scoundrel’s Leathers with a 76% aspect roll
Testing specs:
- 5x normal dummies in dummy test area
- Focus fire on middle enemy
Below are how quickly I am shooting barrage using a bow, what the frames mean and how many barrage casts we can then expect per inner sight cycle.
- 1 second = 60 frames
- Average of 27.25 frames between each barrage cast, so 2 casts of barrage each second
- Inner sight cycles duration = 240 frames +/- 2 frames
- Expected # of barrage casts per inner sight cycle = 8.8 casts in 1x 4 second inner sight duration
- Expected # of traps to spawn per inner sight cycle = 6.6 traps

Observations
- Average number of traps spawned per cycle = 1.7
- Most number of traps spawned per cycle = 3
- Least number of traps spawned per cycle = 1
- No caltrops ever got spawned in any dummy testing or field testing
Conclusion
This shows that the average number of traps spawned is far short of the expected average of 6.6 traps spawned per inner sight cycle. It also seems that dropping Caltrops is not working on this unique.
