Scaling is so bad

After the Diablo 30 and reveal of the Warlock I tried it out in D2R and enjoy it. I thought it has been a minute since I tried DIV. (did not buy the either expansion).

Made it to level 25 and the scaling I just can’t do. Every fight is the same no sense of progression or powering up a toon. Nothing it is just bland exact same ole same. Glad they are making some changes that do look promising but this scaling is not for me.

What are you talking about? There is power scaling in Diablo 4, and it’s quite clear:

  1. The beginning, where you try to start building a basic build to level up quickly and effectively.

  2. Mid-level, when you’re just before reaching Torment 1, where you already have some unique and specialized aspects for a build, and you reach a stable point of survivability.

  3. Torment 1: You reach level 60 and begin leveling up your Paragon, focusing on acquiring Ancestral gear and more aspects to complete your build. You aim to obtain Mythic items that grant the ultimate power boost, level up your Glyphs, and achieve the minimum survivability required to reach Torment 4.

  4. Torment 4: You begin acquiring gear with the optimal affixes you need, achieving the perfect aspects, approaching Paragon 200 and leveling up your Glyphs beyond level 46. You obtain all the uniques and Mythic items required.

Of course there’s character progression and scaling, and it doesn’t feel the same. If you don’t scale correctly or farm the necessary items, you can’t advance and increase the difficulty. If you don’t level up your glyphs and paragon, you also can’t advance. If you have to gradually acquire better things and refine your build, that’s scaling.

Yeah the scaling in D4 is ridicilous. From 1 dmg to 1 quadrillion dmg
Completely meaningless and impossible to balance.

Blizzard are too lazy to balance the game. Until they prove otherwise.

The OP reached just lv 25. Most likely playing on candy land difficulty.

Amazing detail, thanks for sharing.

Just curious, not throwing shade or anything, but what difficulty did you try this on, and did you increase the difficulty at anytime while playing? For that matter did you realize you could change it at anytime? Some people don’t know after having come back from being gone for so long.

I’ll throw shade!

OP plays for 30 minutes on the easiest difficulty, complains game is too easy and rage quits.

He complains about “scaling”, when the exact opposite is true - the 1-60 game tends to be scaled far better than the post-60 game. In 1-60, you get frequent drops that are upgrades. Post 60, you tend to stall out on drops, seeking specific meaningful ones that may drop today, or next week.

This is about as far removed from in game reality as its gets but no doubt you believe in what you are spouting, guess this is what they mean when nut jobs claim “my version of the truth”
