Yep I agree scaling takes away sense of accomplishment

100%. When I get my butt kicked by a boss a few time, go out and adventure to get better gear and level up, go back to the same boss and get my butt kicked again when I’m 5 to 7 levels higher than the first time then yes, this game doesn’t feel like Diablo.

I definitely wasn’t a fan of the scaling, but since I hit 50 and got into Nightmare, it doesn’t feel scaled at all. I one-shot 40+ monsters with pulverize and got a challenge completed for doing it.
I’m actually curious if there’s going to be a point, like if I run into a string of bad luck, where the scaling will catch up to me again. It probably will but at the moment it doesn’t feel that way because of the paragon system.
By the way, does anyway know if the paragon choices even matter? Seems like the whole grid gets filled in, since there are 200+ paragon points. Do other sections open? I thought when I unlocked the top another section would appear…
People complaining about world scaling, just suck. With every single level I gain, I feel the power disparity between my char and the monsters around me just grows bigger and bigger. I was forced to use ulti to clear elite packs at level 60 and now at 70 I destroy them under 3s not using ulti.
You should get a choice from the next 9 boards, ability to rotate it for better positioning each time you reach a gateway…
I’m not really for or against scaling. I like the fact that there are areas that are more-or-less set to be higher than you. I will say it does make it feel less like a Diablo game though. I’m used to natural progression in Diablo games rather than forced pacing. In D1 and D2, you could progress early if you were skilled/geared enough, or you could hold back and progress late to get a power jump on the next difficulty.
Those aren’t options in D4, but I don’t necessarily dislike that. It’s just different.
Hm, I must be doing something wrong then. All I have available to me is that first board. I went to the top where it gives +5 of each stat on one piece, nothing else opened, so I started filling in other parts I went by initially.
what they should do, is when story mode was going on, areas should stay at their level. once the story is done, world start to scale for your end game farming.
but i guess that wasn’t on their mind. now level up doesn’t feel any different at all.
Click on the gate note again to choose new board

That’s on you. My elite pack clear speed at level 60 vs 70 is night and day different. It went from a slog to a massacre within 10 levels.
I’ll disagree with your sentiment - I like the world scaling as it keeps the game a challenge and interesting.
In your example you can go get an aspect from a dungeon or level & farm gear. If you get a significant upgrade or a good aspect then the boss becomes easier. With how they designed the game w/ side-quests etc. the world essentially needs to scale some to maintain some basic idea of challenge and open-world feeling when lower level (for instance I finished A2 before A1).
I might be the minority though, who knows, but I actually adjust difficulty in Diablo 2 to keep it interesting in SP-HC, heh
It’s not just that. It pretty much makes it pointless to go out of your way to over level and farm. Monsters will be just as strong without doing it as they are if you do it. So why bother?
The most stupid thing I’ve ever heard about d4.
The scaling issue is from 1 to 50. The classes also have substantially different 1 to 50 leveling experience from one another.
Post 50 the character starts outscaling things for all classes, 60 to 70 is entirely irrelevant for the issue.

OK then, same experience for my 25 level char vs 40 char, clear speeds are night and days different as well. Saw it in the betas and now they are the same. Your char will forever be stronger and stronger than monster. Unless you’re a bad player, monsters never keep pace with you.
This is not how it works for all classes.
Minion Necromancer for instance starts quite strong and slowly gets weaker until 50, after which they start getting stronger again.
Barbarian starts fairly weak but has straight linear scaling of continually getting stronger.
People are complaining about the scaling in 1-50 because it feels bad. It feels bad because it was executed poorly.
And this is my point. This game doesn’t “feel” like Diablo and that is a shame. If anything the first 50 levels should be easy for anyone to obtain. The trick is to get you addicted to the game. If players get frustrated in the first few hours of play they’ll quit playing and hopefully tell their friends not to buy it because in typical Blizzard fashion they screwed it up.
D2 barb leveling sucks too, no need to speak as if it’s only d4 problem that some class has worse early game than others
Not a diablo game is just your own opinion, it’s fully diablo game for me. Maybe for you anything not diablo 2 is already not diablo.
Agree, the scaling is so boring.
