Saw the post on Turbohud4 question about it

It is absolutely pathetic that Blizzard can’t deliver basic functionality like the map overlay in any reasonable timeline, yet the underground software engineers wrote code that provides this highly desired feature and other features that the playerbase wants.

Just give them 2-3 years guys, then you’ll get another campfire complacency session telling you that these basic features that have existed in Diablo games for over 20 years will finally arrive!

I’m also unclear about what is making people upset with the use of TurboHUD. I thought you folks said this is a “single player game” and what others do doesn’t affect you?

No one cares what you think or feel. It’s against the rules to use this program.

Use it and get banned. No one will care.

If you mean in WoW, yea a lot of people were not happy that they bought curse or I guess maybe twitch/amazon bought it and then sold it to overwolf or something.

People didn’t want to have to use a different app to update their addons or didn’t trust overwolf or something.

Im not a fan of hacks and cheats, never use em. I DO use UI improvements when allowed.

But I swear, if someone had a zoom out mod… that temptation would be STRONG.

I just wanna see, why is that bad? Especially when things offscreen can see me lol

Anything that adds features to the game or anything remotely fun that was not included in the game is cheating.

Had not heard of it till reading the Blue post - so I went and looked. Seems to me a lot of the QoL should already by in this “AAA” title …

Maybe make a non 2005 UI?

Good thing they’re banning it. I hope to never see Diablo vids with weird pink cursor again.

I think they said something about breaking immersion. I dont know. You know what breaks immersion?
“Ok got that one, pin the next statue please”

That’s the point. In order to look this stuff up faster, you have 3 options. Deal with the UI and spend more time mucking about in game trying to find it, alt tab and go to a 3rd party website to find what you need or, in this instance, use a 3rd party app to add those missing QOL features.

Option one keeps you in game longer because you waste a lot of time searching around their lacking UI, or option two stay logged in while looking through website or YouTube video. The 3rd option is the fastest and obviously the one they have a high problem with.

Or it’s the mysterious 4th option: they don’t care and they are gonna bother fixing all the broken and copy pasted code they used from Diablo 3 to make any of work so we’re just SOL. It’s why we are stuck with only 4 bags and constant lag.

Would using something like Mobalytics.gg get you a ban?

A buncho streamers advertise it and say its not going to get you banned but I’ve heard people get banned because of it :man_shrugging:

If you have to question it, dont use it.

Cheetah, we obviously haven’t seen eye to eye and I’ve been critical of several of your opinions recording third-party software, but I will always give credit where it’s due. This is a rational and logical stance that doesn’t appear to claim that all TPS will get someone banned, while also phrasing your personal approach in a way that bodes warning while not leading a reader to believe that you are an authority on the topic. I appreciate this post, sincerely.

Without diminishing that and in good faith, I would like to know what leads you to believe people have been banned for using Overwolf, though.

Imagine we had Modding Tools but Hell No this is not we like here at Blizzard we are against better Solutions and we don´t work with the Community to make the Game better, just eat what we serve and not forget to buy the BATTLE PASS !

Ain’t that the truth, a few dungeons in I realized they are already far more predictable than D3’s even. I don’t need D2’s nonsense smattering of rooms (this was fine for caves, but made any man-made structure look like it was made by a crazy person, which…hmmm) but D4’s are completely uninteresting.

I remember back in Anarchy Online, some player made a better map than the one that came with the game. Didnt cheat or anything, was just better. People overwrote their map file with it to have it in game.

How did Funcom react? They added billboards in the city advertising it to alert other players to it. Because enjoying the game was important to the designers.

Probably don’t want to risk it. They said any program that modifies the game or interferes with it’s function.

It is my assessment that looking things up faster is not the issue with this HUD. Simply being able to access information ingame that is available outside of the game is not an unfair advantage. There were many other features included that improved the user QOL at the expense of the QOL of the non-users around them… and therein lies the problem.

thats kinda scuffed though. shoulda hired the guy and put it in the game without needing instructions or billboards heh

good attitude, still scuffed

Posts here on the forums speculating why the OP got banned. And on checking that seems to be Mobalytics they were talking about. The OP concluded that was the likely culprit. I obviously can’t prove that one way or the other. So, it seems I miss spoke. Here is thread for reference.

It is just that anything that accesses real time data like map position, char/gear stats, etc - is going to be against the EULA. So it would make sense that is what the person got banned for, if they really were not botting or something.

I could swear I saw one for Overwolf too but I need to find it again.

There are not “many” other features included that improve QoL at the expense of another persons QoL.

It literally provides you things like numbers overtop of life and mana pool you know something that should be there in the first place. It provides names of the aspects over top of the aspect so you don’t have to go on a where is waldo hunt for a specific aspect again something a AAA game company should have put there in the first place. It provides you names of areas in the map, locations of the lilith altars you havn’t found on the map and other map related text.

It does show the full dungeon when you enter with a fog of war over it like idk it should be again in the first place. Which if you right now go in a dungeon and press tab you can see the same thing all though a lot fainter than what the overlay gives you its a QoL feature and should have been this way from the start.

It gives you a missed item counter so that way we don’t end up with 10/10 items in stash and the legs we skip arn’t being sent to stash. Another feature that should be there because who wants to go back to town every dungeon to empty the loot to stash page when we don’t pick up the legendary/uniques in our speed clears.

It puts ICONS on the NPC (and other players so you know if they are rouge or sorc since its hard to tell with all these cosmetics) in towns so you no longer have to tab where was this npc again o yeah here they are tab walk 20 feet hit a wall and some turns on your way there and o no which one was it again tab look for the npc im looking for again “o yeah he’s this one” tab back to move again in game. All that just to get to a NPC. Sure eventually you will remember where each one is in each town but this QoL feature from the hud is something again they should have had in the game in the first place.

It provides you a resource display so we don’t have to use a clunky ui materials section that takes 3 actions just to get to the list of what you have and then you have to scroll down to get to the 1 and only resource we even care about which is used to modify gear. Again trash UI is trash hence why this is 100x better doesn’t change the game thou.

So everything it provides is QoL and none of it is information you don’t already have in the game.
