My first try on a 3 GA unique chest that was just about perfect and it gave me % health. When I have 4k health and get % health, it just bricked it to me. Unless Paladins get 30k+ health, % health is an awful choice. Even then, there could be a lot of better choices.
Did someone just pick random garbage from a hat and say to just ruin items? I would have preferred a second temper as this is worse.
I could have sold that chest for a ton or traded it for a ton and I just look at it with sheer disappointment.
That is actually one of the better outcomes and Affixes. The level of RNG in Sanctification is going to make players rage constantly. Have fun with this sort of outcome constantly.
But just think of all those scatification reset gems they will sell in China.

I got a 19% quality upgrade with my first try on a 250-ish weapon. Not too bad, could use it for more than a few levels.
I would hardly call additional %health garbage. Maybe not what you were hoping for, but the item is not bricked at all.

Survivability means squat while leveling. All that is needed is damage. That is what is gating progression. End game, there is a little more balance and nuance but with the change to Toughness, the damage curve is way more forgiving.
Considering you can only roll Defensive or Utility Aspects on Chests as Aspects for Sanctification, the next best thing is going to be +Skills or xDamage depending on yout Build though for Sanctified Affixes.
Yeah this season feels to be pretty lacking compared to Season 10.
I’m enjoying the Paladin, but the Corrupted/Purified powers seem overly complex for how little their powers actually matter compared to the Season 10 ones.
Sanctification also kind of feels… idunno “whatever” compared to Chaos armor.
I guess they wanted a low power season so they could get feedback on the new masterwork system and the Paladin class; but I kind of wish I just made my Paladin in Eternal for this season.
I don’t feel like I would miss the seasonal events and powers if they were removed tomorrow.

Chaos armor was fun but WAY TOO POWERFULL IMMO lile they said it will come back but nerfed by alot
Sanctification can have an absurd amount of Power, but the RNG almost guarantees normies won’t ever see that. With Double Offensive Aspects on Weapons and Gloves alone, I could get up to x400% more damage. The problem with Aspects is they can roll any Aspect in any Range. Sanctified Affixes work this way as well.
It is very difficult to tell what is good or an upgrade now. I imagine if Paladin was not there most people would be done inside a month out of frustration.

The toughness is still borked, too. On PTR, we just thought we didn’t know better. But now they can give you a recommended 2000 toughness and you have 20000 and still get one shot.
It’s a system that still needs a lot of work.
Toughness is a relatively worthless stat just like Attack Power. You have to drill down to the DR from Armor, DR from Elemental Resistances, and then DR from all sources.
Before it was easy because we had an obtainable Hard Cap of 1,000 Armor for T4 which was 85%DR to Physical and 85% Hard Cap for Elemental Resistances for T4 with a 100 Resistance Penalty to overcome. All of these numbers were easily displayed.
Now the major difference is that Armor is reducing all damage and then Elemental Resistances are added on top of that. If you think you have to get to the old 85% cap for Armor and Elemental Resistances, it is nearly impossible without gimping yourself hard core due to Armor and Elemental Resistances having diminishing returns.
So what are the magic numbers now? That is the tricky part because different Classes will have different paths to get there. There will be a point where stacking more Armor to raise your DR 1% is going to not make sense and you may instead be able to raise your Elemental Resist DR by 3% for the same “level” of investment.
Damage Reduction as an Affix has always had diminishing returns also and is not easily understood, especially since there are so many sources and conditional versions still found in Paragon primarily or Aspects/Skills.
What my advice is to players is shoot for 75% Armor DR and 65% Elemental DR. End game with nearly BiS you may be closer to 80%+ Armor and 70%+ Elemental DR. Granted these numbers will fluctuate between classes with easy access to Armor vs Elemental Resistances.
The dumbest thing with the change in my opinion however is having individual Resistances still. They got the memo with Paragon changing it to All Resistances and Armor. Single Resistances should NOT appear as an Affix ever though.
