Balazan Quill Spiritborn
Balazan Crush Spiritborn
Balazan Thrash Spiritborn
Shadowblight Necro
Blood Wave Necro

Is this accurate?

Based on Maxroll’s track record in predicting S-tier builds? Probably not. Based on at least 1 SB-flavored thorns build being S-tier? Probably yes.

Looking over the rest of the list, I was somewhat surprised they didn’t run out of red down-arrow and double down-arrow ink.

Take any tier list right now with a grain of salt. It’s theory crafting, nothing more. Now these builds could do well, they could flop, or there could be another build that comes out of the woodworks and surprises everyone. Like the SB build that came out late this season that just dominated.

Best to check multiple sites for various builds, see what appeals to you and tweak it to how you like it.

The math suggests it is correct. It just depends on if blizz fixes all those double dipping bugs or just makes them features. Anyways, guess what im starting? Thorns SB lol

Anything that got buffed or a new unique generally is a safe bet to be at least A tier. Thorns SB hasnt ever been bad, just not that good. Poison DoT has been atrocious. Seems like they gave new life to both, so should be an easy steam roll up to T2, maybe even T3

I figure if it’s still hilariously OP when the season hits, you got a good 2 weeks before they patch it out. If S8 is anything to go off of.

well, i guess all the Balazan builds could be summed up as Balazan(thorns) for the pants, even if u can play different abilities

Less S builds, means more balance for sure =)

Surprised they had Hydra so low. But I fully expect it to change a lot in the first week. Like Pen shot being near S tier? Where did that come from?

Thats the thing with pre-season tier lists–they are just estimates. We will sde how it shakes out

We’re not sure which game breaking bugs Blizzard didn’t find or ignored the feedback on yet. So take the list with a grain of salt. We’ll have a better idea in a few days.

I was always going to to some kind of Spiritborn at the beginning of S9, just like I did last season. Let’s hope that the Thorns Quill Volley build is better than the Poison Ashava Quill Volley build I ran at the start of last season that sucked so hard I switched to Death Trap Rogue and didn’t look back for the rest of the season.

What a boring list. Stop it Blizzard. That’s boring. Quite boring everyone!

What is boring ?

I kinda like that there is more A builds than S builds =)

Now get rid of the other S builds, and you have many balanced A builds =) hahah

4 builds based off a new unique for 1 class and 2 necromancer builds at least 1 of which has been S tier for a long time. That is a boring S tier list.

S tiers probably are too powerful ya. They seem to want to do away with them for the most part.

Looking at icyveins list you got two barbarian builds in the S tier. Looking at Rob0815 tier list the best barbarian builds are B tier… etc… i hope you are fully confused now :see_no_evil:

Yeah, it’s really all just one build. The damage initiator just changes and therefore they’re calling them “different” builds. What skill you activate doesn’t matter, it’s just about generating as many attacks as possible to proc the pants.

None of them are actually thorns builds, either. They are all Jaguar primary hall builds using the pants to generate poison for Noxious Resonance.

Thorns isn’t providing the damage, it’s just the middle man.

That’s why I hated how they nerfed these pants. It’s not the nerf that bothered me, as they’re still incredibly strong, it’s that nerfing the thorns component was an extremely lazy and ignorant way to attempt to solve the problem. Almost as though they don’t even understand what makes the build strong.

A lot of websites make the tiers based on inner-class balance.

So the two barbarian S tier builds are S tier compared ONLY to other barbarian builds, but are not S tier based on actual performance.

Which is why I hate when they do this.

I don’t really care about tier lists, or this or that, I just want to be able to do pit 100s without carries in a reasonable amount of time so I can max out all of my glyphs. Usually, I can just yolo players without looking at guides, but it appears only a handful of builds will be pit 100 capable unless the monsters got nerfed into the ground. Hence, I’m playing a spiritborn, which to be honest, is not my favorite class.

I want to play shadow blight this season, didn’t know maxroll listed the build as S-Tier. I don’t think it is S-Tier.
The build no one talks about is shadow bone spirit necro. That one is probably S-Tier with lots of room for improvement.

EDIT: I checked maxroll, they still list banished lord’s talisman for bone necro. The list is hot potato alias garbage alias a very rough estimated guess.

I’m goi g for a shadow flurry rogue and trying to combo that with azurewrath and see how it all interacts. Skipping the new helmet because I don’t want to play a mini game where I have to spend all of my rss to get strong for a 50% multiplier when I can get a 60% multiplier from the perdition helm.

Once I get bored of that I will play the most bugged build and see how far apart the two builds really are before settling into a fun Druid build (if one still exists after OP nerf) that’s the general flow of each of my seasons.
