True but imagine this: You buy a BMW with air conditioning and a remote starter.
One day BMW decides “we don’t like these features” and disables your air conditioning remotely because it’s no longer a supported feature.
That’s basically what S8 is. They’re trying to take away our air conditioning and enable some other feature on our car. Some may be OK with this, others are rightfully pissed off.
Yes. I grew up on Broodwar too. This Blizzard is helmed by interns. You cannot make up how utterly incompetent this constant direction switching is and how silly they are for fighting back on feedback. And the self sabotage is next level, Heroes of the Storm died because they couldn’t manage a toaster, much less a game.
I’m casual and I want a more challenging and complex D4. I played poe2 and I didn’t like it, despite what everyone says I thought it had few variations. The poe tree is a pure lie, 50% of the points are attributes and damage.
Yeah - agreed, and I find myself playing Riot games more & more often for the same reason I used to play Blizzard games.
The hc community still exists! We’re not… nearly as damn loud as the other one, but we deserve a home, too! And! And!! Historically, like I saaaaid, we were here first!
I don’t bother with any F2P games anymore. I won’t even touch Marvel Rivals because the nature of the format means things get toxic and frustrating real quick unless you’re in on wave 1 and learn with everyone else at a good to amazing pace.
Exception being StarCraft 2 arcade games but I bought SC2 and all it’s expansions so for me, it wasn’t F2P.
I am seriously considering Arma Reforger, that looks sick as hell as long as you don’t decide to give snipers a big target by running into fields lol.
Eh. IDK. Outside of a few really dark eras sc2 has always been about tight build orders, adaptability and sick execution. Even as masters outside of those few dark eras like GOMTVT, Archon Toilet, Super Fungal Growth, Swarm Host Raven meta and a few others it’s always been knife’s edge balance.
It’s only within the last 2ish years that the Balance Council went super obnoxious Terran bias and that’s due to internal structuring of votes being borked by following a representative system like Canada has (I am Canadian, representative systems suck hard bobo because entire swaths of country get ignored).
Playing HC in this game is brave and definitely requires the right temperament lol. On a better note, I just finished modding my Skyrim. 175 gb install and it looks fairly decent. Community Shaders is basically better due to PBR textures at this point compared to ENB. Exception being shadows. Community Shaders is kinda bad at shadows lol.
I don’t bother with most ARPGs. I played D2 and sucked at it. D3 and utterly owned because I came in after the aggressive balancing n crap on a sale. Necros are obnoxious in that game with the right build lol. Bone spear minion is just silly.
I only bother with them at this point because of fond memories of Heroes of Norath co-op games on the PS2.
I think S8 would’ve been better received if balance were in a better spot before increasing the difficulty. Or at the very least addressing the balance issue amongst all classes instead of doing what they typically do. Which is focusing on one build/skill to buff for the next season, giving nerfs to the over performing builds of the current season, and buffing some random skills that aren’t or wont be used.
The issue I’m seeing some players having on this forum is that due to the horrible balance, they have to be forced to play a meta build to make any progress. It’s no longer a play your way, but play the meta way. Which I completely understand.
Now there’s room for both types of players, we just need actual balance. The Pits are still for the grinders, while everything else is for the play your way players. Sadly I don’t think we’ll see any semblance of balance for years to come, but I’d love to be proven wrong.
