Devs talked about making things more intuitive and yet the S8 changes for minion necromancer are counterintuitive. I feel like the two items already need a rework…
The sword is purely for AotD, and the aspect is just straight up trash, it’s not good for any build, specialy not for minion builds.
The new Unique, and both aspects are good. Are representative of new builds.

Yeah why do I want to blow up my warriors? The worst thing about the d3 necro (for me) was that half the minions only lasted for 10 seconds or whatever and they’re like give them more of that.
I will avoid that aspect even if it turns out to be good. I like my skeletons tanky, not literally throwing themselves away every few seconds. That’s truly a weird take.
Because you blow them up for massive damage and then summon new ones immediately right after since you have the corpses. Blowing up skellies is literally one of the requested things from pre-S4. I’m shocked people are thinking this is bad.
It could do a kajillion damage and it won’t be any less dumb. Explosive undead throws my class fantasy in the toilet.
Why not explode druid pets while we’re at it?
Does the minion necro have to collect a handful of bones scattered all over the place before his minions can do the next great damage? (asking for poor bloodwave orb collectors and Spiritborn feather collectors) ![]()
Well it’s a matter of preference but it is a new build after all. More new playable builds the better. That’s my opinion anyways. Apparently Last Epoch has this kind of build.

Sure. It will work. I don’t know anything about last epoch. I never liked combo decks in magic the gathering either, and this feels like “a combo” to me, ie you throw away your minions, which is deliberately counterintuitive but it kills stuff, which produces more minions.
It’s an engine. A nice little engine. I personally don’t get it though. Like, as a necromancer, you are doing maybe frost damage in addition to negative energy. A bursty fireball is, like, the opposite of what I’m looking for. The idea that you raised another human being from the dead just to explode them four seconds later, while I’m not denying from a pure gameplay perspective that it could potentially be compelling, it just feels as non-starter as a druid with exploding wolves that drape their intestines all over the battlefield to ensnare enemies.
Yes, you could make the case that that will enhance gameplay. But from a “logical fantasy” perspective it sounds pretty r-word. That’s all I’m saying. Enjoy your new build though by all means.

I think if you used it with the build with bone mages firing out a bone spear when you do, it could work, just ignore the summoning of skeletal warriors for the most part? Was the only thing that came to mind due to the 2nd part of the power. I’m no theory crafter though, so it could just be crap all around.
I have no issue with the fantasy, but necro has many passives, one keystone passive and multiple aspects that want the EXACT OPPOSITE to occur.
yea, actually i can see this build being pretty fun.
The DR will not effect their hp loss. It’s an effect that occurs no mather what when they attack. Like when a skill spends your hp instead if your resource.
Correct no minion mancer with a brain want to loose the mire minions you have the stringer they are bonuses. Inconsistent dmg buffs are allready used in the necro builds, we realy don’t need another. No ine wants to.loose any of the minions in general. Hell I don’t even like spamming Saise Skeleton all the time for the buff, FORCEING it by blowing up warriors will not make me like it more. I don’t inderstand how sime don’t see how problematic this is. Also the minion build is still lacking massive damage. How about giving them some more damage, before introduceing new ways to play with minions?
Also I bet atleast half if the minion stuff will not work properly again.

I will try it out too but please let minion necro do a conjuring dance and collecting 10 bones which will be thrown all accross the map before being able to shatter the corpses ![]()
It’s an aspect, and you are wellcome to be dissapointed. Atleast it’s just on PTR and can certainly change before going live.
Exactly! And I’m gonna remember who downplayed it so when PTR hits & someone finds the build, people are gonna be like, “I played it since day 1, I knew it was gonna be sick, yadda yada”
i assume some necros are a little angry because they want to afk play lol. with this aspect you gotta do something lol.
