The single biggest reason why Diablo 4 sucks

A monster that doesn’t drop loot is not interesting. For the same reason I don’t chase critters. I didn’t stomp on insects in Diablo 2.

In The Pit and Infernal Hordes monsters are just white noise. You ignore them as much as possible and rush to the end to get your rewards. It’s not interesting to see a monster die because you know they will drop nothing. Why pay attention to the actual game? Just go click click click and look at the stupid progression bar or timer.

After some recent changes to Nightmare Dungeons monsters drop approximately 0.5 legendaries per run (T3), which is not enough to keep me engaged. So now we have 3 different activities where it’s more rewarding to ignore the monsters and rush to the end.

Why you turn everything into a chore?

I want exploration, no timers, no hurry.

- Overpower:
Always hated it and it’s still a problem.

- Boss summoning:
Boring

- Tempering, Masterworking, Glyph grind:
Boring

- Apparition Incursions:
Boring

- Battle Pass:
Overall a good change because of the earnable platinum.

- Seasonal Journey:
Painful, but I guess the cat (Iris) is worth it.

- Other:
Most likely going to stop playing after I get the cat.

Your post is boring…

“Interesting” to me that people complained non-stop about too much loot in a looter game that now nearly all loot come from treasure chests and bosses (event/pit/dungeon/uber/maiden/hell guy in helltides) and almost nothing drops from regular enemies except gold and sometimes mats.

because the just have to cry about something, and then make 200 posts about the same thing and still cry about

I actually think less piles of loot is better feeling than filling my inventory up before I can even finish a dungeon. I know most don’t agree with that, but… when you win the slot machine on every pull, slot machines quickly get boring.

Not disagreeing that it makes it easier to sort through, but I can 100% clear an NMD, have maybe 9 or 10 pieces of gear from it, and maybe one dropped from an enemy. That’s kind of silly, don’t you think?

How exactly do you define “winning” here? For me winning is getting a usable item - not just any item. No iteration of this game has had winning on every pull, not by a light year.

I rather have less but more meaningful loot as a general philosophy.

Did my 40. Had fun. Playing something else until leaderboards are in

Well, it all comes down to balance as always. Unfortunately the devs only know how to swing between the extremes. It’s like the word balance is missing from their vocabulary.

I don’t miss this view, but I don’t like lootboxes either:

That’s inherently the problem. They lowered the loot, but it’s just as useless as before.

Man… I miss that… very disappointed in Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 for not having it.

Yea not getting drops directly from killing mobs/elites/bosses makes this not even feel like a Diablo Game. I’m not even sure this is Diablo anymore.

Hard agree. In almost all cases, your build ranges from trash to “off meta” if it doesn’t overpower. Its entirely unnecessary, and hamstrings build variety.

I like bossing tbh, and I think the changes to them are great. Imo its one of the only things this season really did well, but I can see why they’d be boring to some people.

Personally I think it breaks up the constant loop of slaughtering mooks for hours on end. I like the variety it offers.

I think they’re solid for the most part, however tempering either needs more charges, or scrolls should not be limited to one per item. Too many amazing and exciting drops bricked instantly. Especially considering loot drops at a fraction of the pace it used to.

Feels bad man…

100%. Potentially the worst seasonal mechanic yet. Not only are they boring to do in and of themselves, you spend more time traveling to them than actually engaging with incursions.

Also, having to constantly shift to the map and squint around looking for the icon is both boring, and a literal eyesore. Not to mention that they’re only even worth doing if its attached to a whisper. They could’ve made them all whispers, and it wouldn’t’ have been overpowered. At least the drudgery would be worthwhile.

Eh, its got some positives and some negatives. I’m somewhat ambivalent, however being able to target what you want is a good change imo.

Who’d have thought that making t4 ridiculously hard compared to previous seasons, with the stated goal of making t4 something only a fraction of the population does, while also keeping it required for the seasonal journey, was a bad idea?

Again, this is another reason to change overpower. Stuff like this pigeonholes you into a very limited number of builds.

This is the way.

That would be nice - but D4 has only achieved the first half - less loot!

A wall of text I am not going to read. Probably, some more whining of a “hardcore” fan.

Earnable Platinum went down from 700 to 200 in the new Battlepass system…

Other non-Overpower dependent builds need massive buffs. The Sorc class has been an absolute JOKE for the past several seasons. Lowest life & lowest overall defenses outside of elemental resistances (Intelligence stat governs elemental resistance) make Sorc survivability at higher Torment levels a major issue. The only viable Sorc build for high Torment/Pit levels is LS (Lightning Spear) which requires 2x Mythic Uniques (Harlequin Crest & Ring of Starless Skies) for maximum effect. Blizzard claims to encourage build variety & yet it’s the same old builds in S-Tier…
