S5 Build Check Progress

I’m curious how everyone is progressing.

I’m lvl 91 so far with my Firewall Sorc. The last 20 levels seems slower than the first 80 levels comparatively (not that it matter).

  • 11K power
  • 20K HP
  • 16K armor
  • Max Fire, Poison, and Lightning res
  • 3 Paragon board for leveling
  • 3 to 5/12 Masterwork so far
  • Level 15, 10, 10 glyphs
  • Uniques: Flameweaver, 3 GA Godslayer, Sacred Tal Rasha ring

Milestones:

  • NM 91 Tier completed. I think I can do NM 100
  • Pit 40 cleared. Max available. I think I can go Pit 45 to 50
  • Infernal T4 cleared. I am stucked at T5.
  • 3x stack mindcage in Helltides is no sweat at all
  • Won my last two PvP

From memory (at work now)
My Sorceress is level 85, using Staff of Liam Neeson as main build. and Tal Rasha

mm… 14k power I think, 9.5K armor, 7k life? or something…
all resistance at 70%
only masterworked my staff so far 4/12
only 1 paragon glyph to 15

Milestone: NMD 60, horde level 3 (but just greatly improved my power before bed, me think I can do horde level 4, ie. 125)

BTW, about our armor, read the tootltip!
Anything beyond 9.3k is unnecessary!

Armor cap is 9230. You could drop 7k armor and pick up useful stuff.

Really? I thought the practical armor cap is 15K at least. That tooltip is for level 100 monsters.

Edit: I confirmed in the general discussion and also checked Reddit, man this is nice to know but I wish I knew it sooner!

I wasted some Ancestrals with good stars just because they didn’t have armor and wasted a lot of gold getting a perfect armor roll on my amulet. Now I am trying to roll it to something else. 4M gold now per roll lol.

I am level 9o now and managed to rerolled some of my items so there’s less armor

Atk power: 15K
Armor: 11K (this will drop to 9 6K after I rerolled my amulet so it’s perfect)
Life: 25K

Farming tormented bosses on my arc lash sorc already. Overall, sorc still needs major improvements because this simply isn’t fun.

Are you doing it solo and are you able to kill it? I assume yes because I don’t think you won’t call it farm if you can’t

Yes, solo. Only Varshan is a problem.

That must be a nice build in S5 to solo Tormented Bosses

Can’t get past wave 1 on level 6 Infernal Hordes.

I am still at Infernal Tier 5 with my Firewall Sorc.

I tried Tormented Glig and got him down to 60% HP. I guess there’s chance for me once I have reconfigure my leveling glyphs. That one shot debuff is what always gets me. If I can avoid that consistently I can kill him with my cureent build but it simpler if I just have more DPS.

Lighting spear sorc here.
pit lvl 90, probably can do higher than 100, didn’t try.
Build is way too op, not really having fun cuz it’s not fun to play build that kills anything x3 off-screens, anyway it is what it is.
S4 fo build was peak fun sorc builds in D4 for me.

Too OP than other Sorc builds like Ball Lightning in S2?

Back in S2 the difference between Ball Lightning and other Sorc builds is humongous.

Are you saying it’s the same difference?

hard to say, didn’t play s2.

So in S2, Ball Lightning can quickly melt Duriel at level 70 undergeared Sorc. It almost one shots world bosses.

well then not so op.

But i think you can kill tormented duri/andy at lvl 100 w/o masterworking/gg gear at all.

Now that I reached level 100 with my Liam Neeson / Charged Bolt build time to try the other build!
Really easy to setup, only need Lam Nesem staff and the Aspect which make bolt pierce enemies. And a proper skill and paragon tree of course…

With the current charged build NMD90 is the good speed farming limit… NMD100 takes too much to kill boss. And infernal hordes 4 is not fast enough to get yellow/orange boon&bane…

With my poorly equip fire-ball build I can clear Pit lvl 61 and lvl 5 infernal hordes.
Current plan is to masterwork some of my stuff to lvl 8/12 and find good amulet and a ring. Maybe even find something with GA on it, then try the tormented bosses.

It does feel NM 100 bosses are tankier than back in S2/S3. Were they buffed in S4 and S5?

just got to level 98 a hour ago on my Blizzard Ice Spike Sorc

21k base AP
16k hp (plans to get +6 % more when i get 100)
11k armor (bad tempers on chest unable to land both +armor mod affix and +%total armor with +mana regen and int or hp)
75 % fire/cold res, 70 all but shadow at 40 % (will fix once can get armor requirments from chest rolled correctly and drop the jugg aspect to get more DR)
6 Paragon boards lvl21 on control/spikes and rest at 15 (unleash, enchanter, elementalist and destruction) 2 legendary nodes selected “icefall” + “frigid fate”
only blue rose ring at level 4 masterwork and my 2handed staff aswell
running tal ring w/ blue rose for uniques, want to add godslayer soon as i get chest sorted correctly (also tal ring is bottom roll on affix only 10Xto40%

Milestones:

Pit 80 cleared, deadly for me due to missing a DR aspect but dps is fine could go higher
NM 100 cleared (BTW its 750 glyph xp with seasonal bonus from battle pass + 20 % more xp from sigil at level 100 NM)
infernal T4 cleared (back when i was level 80, but will try to push this more now)
seasonal content is full cleared, enjoyable with the hordes, but its better in party play

Power:
hitting for 4.5Million if i can get all 3 elements hit on mobs and 16Million on bosses when stagger bar fills
21 % chilled DR / 13 % vuln DR / 15 % DR while unstoppable / 8 % burning DR / 60 % DR while Align elements up
using Teleport / ice shield / fire shield / lightning spear / ice blades / Blizzard skills with Firebolt and Iceblades Enchanted

I dunno. But I noticed that it seems like for Dungeon boss, when in a group, the stagger bar progress twice as slow as soon as they drop below 50% life. While solo the stagger is probably only 25% slower…

(I noticed because I cause a lot of crowd control with my build, like 40% chill per attack plus all the lucky hit for stun, freeze, immobilise)

EDIT, checking my build from memory and build calculator. I just realize my +24% chill is only when I have a shield on. And I don’t always have a shield on!
