S14 PTR patch notes - feedback

So, reading the patch notes, its fair to say, you pretty much nerfed every character… without giving any seasonal or permanent compensation.

The community pretty much collected 13+ key points to change, you managed to do a few:

25k obol - still too low in my view, if you could do it to 25k, why not 50k so we can complete 1 whole escalation dungeon (in case we pick all 3 as obol rooms) ?

Rerollable uniques - this is okayish, we have a lot of cube materials, so fair point. i wonder tho if reroll can result in GA or not, but based on past experiences you dont want us to enjoy it…*

Updated warplans - most of the changes are good and requested (IH is more valuable, escalation etc more valuable)

Teamplay, shared warplan - Thanks! This is massive, BUT i wonder if only 1 reroll with the 2 Marks would be enough? i dont think so.

The whole concept of randomized mythics and mythic uniqes and stuff - imo you can flush the “unique” and “mythic” signal in the toilet with that step… They are just plain Legendaries with some fixed aspects now, whats so “new” and “revolutionary” ?
This fairly insists even more grinding for what? To catch up with hackers and bots who you still dont deal with? Nah ty.

You make the game and the itemization so random, that in the end, it’s gonna be like maxing the reliquaries and maybe getting one character to T12 - people will not stay to play the game for 2-3 months still.

The whole concept of “balancing” is misunderstood in the team. It is not about completely nerfing good builds, but making VARIETY to have MORE good builds. I get that you want T12 to be a real challenge, but that is not the endgame of this game at all, but Tower.
Tower will not be nerfed, and based on the patch notes, again only hackers can max it out and get rewards which is nonsense.

So all in all, we got like 3-4 good changes, rest nerf only… good “balancing”…

Mythics were destined to go the same way as uniques, which were destined to go the same way as legendaries, due to the cube.

You can definitely make a good argument that mythics themselves have no real purpose for holding the label they do have, as they’re just uniques with one fixed affix now.

They’re going to need to add some special mechanic to mythics, and perhaps cap it at 1 equippable. Something like a new cube recipe to add any legendary aspect you want, regardless of item slot, along with the mythic power. Then every build can debate about using mythics as a gateway to more interesting builds.

i’ve been playing this game since S7 and sadly they barely listen to community suggestions, not even those that are not overpowering but simply QoL…

Mythics were so far the step-ups from mid-game to endgame gear setups, now they are nerfed in a brutal way… i dont even try to guess how long it will take now to get even good 1-2 GA gears…

and if they also change the current cube thing with GA locking… then the whole itemization is doomed simply…

After 25 years playing Diablo I maybe done. You make leaps and bounds and then take 40 steps backwards I cannot keep defending this type of stuff man. Poe 2 is dropping soon and even with only 3 acts in the beginning they destroyed a triple A game, which sucks cause Diablo has the tools and potential you just got someone working there that’s to pride strong. We play rpgs to feel powerful not be weak every season with a bottlenecked build we’re forced to play and maybe not even reach pit 150. I don’t get it anymore you leave no good seasonal mechs behind made mythic charms impossible to get and now nerfevery build like what’s the point? Why play? Do you not like money and more concurrent players I really don’t get it. Buff other stuff stop nerfing stuff is already weak.

fair point man… literally i nailed Pit 135 on Paragon 220 this season… now im 295 and still cant go any higher cuz i literally do not get any upgrades, or any good amount of iron chunk / rawhide to craft myself… very sad design, and this part will also not be fixed.

so basically i reached my limit already after 2 weeks and since then its just pure grind for literally nothing… (just waited for Poe2 too…)

sometimes when i look at my 3.5 million obducite and capped 999k baleful fragments…and my amazingly lot 4k iron chunk and rawhide… i need to throw up real hard…

LoH is overall a Fail in my view:
1., warplan isnt an endgame system, but a lvling system - and thats the real sad truth. Still no real endgame content in the game as Tower is scammed.
(Just at this moment i could think of a few real endgame systems: clan activities, pvp clan war schedules, stronger and rewarding world boss system with winnable limited time world boss skills even, reworked legion events, real pinnacle bosses (mephisto is good but needs rework, also expecting the 2 other prime evils in the roster…), real top-tier items that are not account bound to actually have things to farm gold for etc.)

2., sets got too much attention and they give too much power, so game is going backwards to straight up be D3 just with a bit more items

3., QoL additions were completely skipped in the update, we have to manually pick almost everything from the ground, Inventory and stash are just garbage on top, material caps, gold cap, even a material marketplace is needed (yes i want to change my 3.5 million obducite for lets say iron chunks or even Sigil powders etc, similar to HoMM games)

Sad part is they don’t give a crap about what we say I was really enjoying this season then they decided that if people who leveled their characters up and grinded the gear and all the other stuff you needed and finally was enjoying running end content well its time to take the nerf bat to their builds but some people on leaderboards still have gear with 10 to 125 GA’s but lets nerf people who are playing legit and actually enjoy our game for once oh well they forgot what happened the last time they did this I guess POE2 had best update their severs I have a feeling they are going to fill up quickly well I hope to see some of you fine people in POE2 tomorrow have a goodnight ( Man Blizzard what are you thinking Dang)

The problem that I can find is that they’re taking away from the Additive (plus to-, not multiplicative) pool and giving nothing to compensate it like nerfing overpower. They are shrinking the shell while keeping the multipliers mostly in one piece.

Overpower added to that pool, which can help virtually every build that uses it.

Ive tested countless hours between crit damage multiplier, vulnerability multiplier, etc. Eventually it doesnt matter because your base pool isnt getting any larger. They want “all archetypes” to be able to make it to torment X which is fine, but turns the game into min/maxing a few % just for looks because the extra multipliers become useless.

dude on release gems used to gi in your inventory with your wepaons, lots changed for the better.

i did not say it is not better than it was 3 years ago.

I listed the issues of possible QoL changes that they simply missed with the patch…

For a fair price we expected much more QoL, and most of them are long requested items…
