Had an issue with runes disappearing when trading them with a friend - we never trade with anyone else, and we farmed the runes together doing bosses. Seems to happen only when you “split” stack and don’t place the new split stack into inventory first before trading, but put it directly into the trade window. When the trade concludes - and says new items in your inventory - the runes disappear into the ether, with no runes received but still being sent out.
Once again, these were 100% legit, non duped runes, and we tested it both directions and I also recorded a short clip when I received nothing in the trade. Tried with 4 different kinds of runes, including basic blue ones and legendary ones, in groups of one or stacks of 2-10, with multiple items or just one. Always happens. Even if the item is just the most basic useless blue rune.
In the initial trade lost 5 BAC runes, kinda annoying.
I too experienced the same bug. As I read your post out loud to my friend giving me the runes, he said thats what he did, split them right into the trade window not inventory first. maybe this should get some attention as a PSA.
We had this issue tonight as well. Trading with friends and they just disappeared. Traded with another friend and those disappeared as well. If you are not suppose to trade them, then don’t let us vs just making them disappear.
Same thing here, also split in the trade window. Definitely sucks as we lost about 18 runes we needed
I came here to say the same thing.
A friend and I traded runes last night and they disappeared. I gave him (1) eom and (2) ton for free. He’s a friend and he gave nothing in return. I definitely split the stack as well
What can we do about getting these back? It’s very disappointing to grind this season for what feels like 100 hours to only get 2 eom and then have one disappear in a trade.
I hade the same thing happen to me. Bought 3 runes, stacked as I wasn’t aware of this bug. Didn’t show up in my inventory, 140m down the drain.
Dislike the whole system, and when it bugs as well…good times.
Same Problem here. I Traded Money for 4 Runes. My money ist gone but i don´t have the runes.
This happened to me… in-game trade mechanism says the trade was successful but the runes are just gone.
Looks like multiple posts have reported the bug where splitting stacks of runes and then using the in-game trading feature doesn’t successfully transfer the runes yet they are still removed from the original player’s inventory.
Haven’t seen anything from the devs acknowledging this bug and/or if the runes can be restored.
Careful, it seems like this happens to all stacked items. I split around 50 of each boss summoning item for Duriel, and just dropped them into the trade window. Poof gone.
Happened to me too just now with two separate trades for an OHM rune. I lost my gold and never got the runes.

The same thing happened to me with trading my brother for Bac runes. I did the spit from stack into trade window and poof disappeared. Seems like the devs couldnt care any less about their players losing in game items since they already bought the game.
It happened to me I lost a lot of runes 
So is the workaround to split the stacks in your own inventory before opening a trade window?
I haven’t tested that. I’ve been partying up and dropping items on the ground for pickup by the other person instead of using the trade window. Doesn’t help if you’re trading for gold though.
Same problem here with 5 BAC… my friend had 10, splitted in 2 to give me 5, never received them… we checked both chest and inv + deco/reco but nothing worked… he had enough to help me craft my item but that sucks 
Same, tried to flip some BAC for EOM for my craft and other user got their runes but mine never showed up.
Still happening - just traded two XOL’s that vanished, before I read this, and the third went through from inventory first with no issues.
Had this happen this morning buying six AHU’s from trade. other person got my gold and i got left wondering if they somehow scammed me =/
Just traded for 2 Bac runes. They appeared in inventory and immediately after my entire stack of 6 disappeared. Really, really frustrated.
