Rune "crafting" seems convoluted and ui is a problem (among other issues)

Perhaps I missed the tutorial somewhere or an NPC explaining this better and I can’t even find a video outlining how it works. It seems to me that the UI doesn’t even help so it would be intuitive. The problem isn’t to be confused with the male-to-female combination for the TAM+TEB=TamTeb for example.

The first problem is, what is even the “offering” currency? Gain offering, lose offering; per use is what I’m guessing, but “WHAT” is it? How much do I have? Do I need to sacrifice a poodle? Is it that I’m killing mobs and gaining this offering and then the feature triggers?

Reforging? It seems that you’re taking a “LAC” rune and converting 3 of them into another LAC rune. I assume you’re hoping it procs to a legendary status, but you could also get another rune you don’t even want/need? Are you hoping it’s a legendary LAC rune?

That all stems from the next problem, getting WHAT rune to craft a mythic unique? The UI doesn’t stay up to know what three runes they are, so you can try to figure out what rune that is. I feel I have to get a PhD in anthropology and study Diablotology to be able to understand what runes it’s even asking for. You can’t highlight what the rune is off the “recipe” because when you move off of the recipe the list of items disappears. Is there a website for this? Why do I need a 3rd party website to play with a feature of this game?

Finally, there are so many runes that the ones I even need to craft don’t have space to fit inside the rune/gem slots. I haven’t even collected any of the ones I need to craft the mythic uniques and you have to match up these small hieroglyphs on the corresponding ones that again, has 0 explanation how to get the ones you even need because the recipe notes what ones it was asking for.

I hate disparaging something new to the game; but, unless I find a site that explains this in detail, I don’t even know how to use it. Maybe it’s a great feature, but all it looks like is bag bloat for the sake of a feature that won’t be around in a month.

I hope they remove this crap , I totally agree that it is convoluted and not understood at all.
Just another layer of bs grinding, and I don’t even know for what.
I think diablotology is real and scary

Rune crafting is pretty much infuriating, IMO.

The 15% chance to upgrade to a higher rarity means you never make any real progress with the “low tier” runes and need to farm “high runes” to actually get what you want. I can’t see a universe in which you get better runes from crafting, On top of that, even getting the runes you want from crafting can barely ever work.

Turn rune crafting into simply upgrading runes through the rarities. If I want the meteorite rune, let me make it viable.

Glad I’m not the only one. I assume when I give up 3 of X, I have an 85% chance to get X, Y, Z, etc of the same rarity and a 15% chance to get A, B, C, etc of a higher rarity, but all I ever get is one of the three I “reforged”. I gave up after getting this same result 10 times in a row as I assumed it must be bugged (?!).

how the rune crafting works.

you collect 3 of a single rune, you “reforge” it. 85% of the time it will turn into a rune of the same tier. it’s possible for it to turn into itself, but it’s much more likely to turn into a different rune. 15% of the time it’s upgraded.

it’s purposely very inefficient

Diablo 2’s rune system is so perfect because it copies everything from d3 and doesn’t copy from d2??3 identical runes you get a rune of a higher level 3 different runes you get another curious rune. It’s as simple as that. Make all the runes, 3 types being blue, rare and legendary.
