Run out of memory

I have 32gb of ram 12 gb of vram playing full hd with normal textures. Does someone have same problems? Or how many ram and vram do you need for full hd? Or is it possible memory leakage? Or do I need more virtual memory?

could be caused by battle .net launcher, set it to ON GAME LAUNCH, EXIT BATTLE .NET COMPLETELY.

I’ve seen a lot of post about memory leak.
I have 16gb Vram and 64gm Ram. Vram is full almost immediately, Ram is slowly going up every hour. The most i’ve seen is 27+ gbs.
People say it happens when you teleport around.

I never experienced crashes tho’. But I do have swap file turned on (since it’s required for some software).

Kinda strange this potato game is using up so much ram cause it isn’t that incredible. Just tells me it’s a resource hog and using up way too many resources to render a game that doesn’t even look anywhere near that amazing to be using so much.

I keep getting run out of memory crashes in world bosses after the last update!!! this is the worst season!!!

I set my page file to 10 gb and I’m playing for 2 hours without crashes. D4 is taking 12gb of ram ot it’s own. Closed battle net launcher also

If you guys have less than 16GB of VRAM, do not use the ultra textures, lower to high.

Yeah…I have this issue only at world bosses.

I turn off DLSS in Options/Graphics and also lower the particle effects. Seems to help but I DLSS resets back to on with each re-boot.

I don’t use ultra textures. I didn’t even download them. So it’s not the problem.

Diablo 4 is the only game that has a memory leak issue. I never had the issue til the expansion came out.

My solution set min pagefile to 2x your ram…DO NOT SET TO 32 if your ram is 16gb you have to multiply that by 1024. Set max to 4x your RAM. This is the only solution that temporarily solved it. I still get them but its far between them. The poster that said set both to 32 for me was wrong. Diablo 4 take too much memory and its an easy internal code fix but they have to go find it. These are the numbers that should be in your pagefile. Make sure you have 4x the ram as extra space on the hard drive.

16gb x 2 x 1024 = 32,768
64gb x 2 x 1024 = 65,536

Make sure its in the custom pagefile and click the button that says “SET” otherwise it doesn’t save. Now reboot for the changes.

No other game I play has a memory leak issue.

I’m rocking 4090 and i can no longer doing multi box anymore…everytime i teleport to anywhere one of my client will crash…the memory leak is not a joke

Its always on the teleport for the “loading” of assets.

This is the only place I crash now: world bosses

Wow no comments about this not being blizzards fault and everyone just has potato computers, guess you can only argue against the truth for so long lol

My PC had no problems running games prior to Diablo 4 VoH expansion. Diablo 4 is the ONLY game that runs out of memory. Placing blame on the user shows me you are in the same boat as MikeDanger, Mr “IT” Professional who says its the user’s fault and couldnt possibly be something common from Blizzard coding.

Re read my comment maybe lol, not putting blame on players

I too am crashing ONLY on world boss fights. It has happened 4x now. I do not have a low end computer. The message reads, “D4 has run out of memory and the application needs to exit. This is possibly caused by using graphic settings exceeding your machine capabilities. Would you like to reset quality settings to default on the launch?” Doesn’t matter as D$ is completely locked up and requires a full computer reboot. This has NEVER happened in D4 before or on any other game I play.

Not sure what people have tried or not.

Turn their crappy RayTracing OFF.
If you don’t need DLSS (you have a higer end card) turn that one off too.

And if your pagefile is set properly.

Try this also, in nVidia Control Panel\Manage 3d Settings\ there is a setting for Shader Cache Size. Change that to something else. Hit Apply. Change it back to where you had it and hit apply. It will force that chache to refill. (mine is set to 10GB for reference but I think 5GB is fine.)

I have not had crash issues for a while…but these are some things that sorted it out before when I was crashing a lot. And it was not CPU heat releated.
And if CPU heat related, I have made posts about how to resolve that also. Let me know I will link it.

Can’t really take your complaint seriously when you’re literally using a very resource consumptive way to play the game not as intended.

Like seriously? Lol

I had to turn off ray tracing completely to not crash now, this is bs, before the latest patch I didn’t have any crash on max settings…
