Rtx frame generation

so i have a 2060 super
and it looks like i can’t get frame generation enabled is this only for the newer cards? because i was under the impression it was for all rtx cards

Nvidias own framegen is exclusive to the 4000 series.
You could use FSR 3 framegen though if the game supported it.

Confirmed. Requires a 40XX series card to use Frame Gen.

And I tested it today.

It gives me a 40-60FPS boost over not being enabled with all other settings equal.

You can see a bit of the difference here, where I have my FPS capped to 100, but with Frame Gen off, it drops to 75ish. But while that doesn’t look like 40-60, it would if I set the cap higher.

I was bouncing at around 120-130 before capping, (my monitor likes to have 165) as it was unable to reach the native FPS to match the monitor.

Before this patch, the game ran solid at 165 with Frame Gen off. So the Ray Tracing puts a huge hit on the performance of your card.

Runs FLAWLESSLY on my RTX 4070Ti at ULTRA Settings on both Ray Tracing and Graphics QUALITY playing in 4K on a 48" OLED, granted I am only seeing 55-60FPS, but to be honest, I’m not playing a 1st person shooter, I don’t care about anything over 60fps anyhow.

So i played around a bit with the settings on my 4090 FE.
Well… what can i say, the performance impact is ridiculous and most of the time you can hardly tell any difference.

Also it seems to be unstable since i had my first crash in months switchting rtx settings on and off.

Is that with Framegen and DLSS performance?

In Kyovashad at the TP i drop to the 70s with DLAA and no FG on max settings at 1440P.
FPS seem to vary wildy for no reason at times when switching rtx settings.

Like ray traced reflections especially, in the middle of the town with nothing reflecting drops my FPS by like 30-40 and my GPU was at 50-70% (so CPU-limited).
But that was not always reproduceable.
Also the RT reflections are super low res even on high setting… like wtf?

Where is the raytraced ambient occlusion?

So far i don’t think the raytracing is well optimized nor is it really making a big difference in this game.

EDIT:

ok so there is no RT AO, just some “improved” form which is basically just darker

Seems like the option to zoom out further didn’t make it to the live patch since it’s not in the patchnotes anymore… also can’t find it ingame.
Hopefully it’s just delayed for S4.

Maybe Blizzard will add AMD FSR 3 with Frame Generation.

I have nvidia 1070 , XeSS enable quality , with FG + boost the game goeth more smoother than without.
