So from the skill tree there is a passive called “Weapon Master” it reads as follows:
Gain a bonus when attacking based on weapon type:
- Daggers: x[15%] increased damage to Healthy enemies.
- Swords: x[9%] increased damage
- Bows: x[12%] increased damage to Vulnerable enemies.
- Crossbows: x[15%] increased Critical Strike Damage.
So the question is what if I have a sword in primary and a dagger in offhand. Does it base the weapon type off of primary or are both weapons considered active?
daggerS, swordS so my guess is either of them, we will have to dual wield
I would assume both are considered active. My thought being, if I’m playing as a ranged user I would technically never receive a bonus otherwise. You do raise a really good point, that could use some clarification. We could test this on release to know for sure.
@Sarkado - Sorry, to be clear there are bow and crossbow perks on Weapon Master, but I excluded their buffs.
- I edited the original post to reflect that so it doesn’t lead to further confusion. My bad and thanks for the responses!
Great question. I would assume that you only get the bonus from primary if you’re dual wielding different weapons, though I can’t say for sure. Perhaps you’re considered a “weapon master” and gain both bonuses if you use different weapons.
I read the post a little deeper and answered one of my questions, but yeah I’m still unsure about your dual wielding sword/dagger combo.
We did’nt get much chance to play around with Key Passives
They are somewhat interesting and build defining
Probably applies to the weapon damage that’s looked at when doing your attack calculations. So the dagger’s damage will have the damage boost added on to its portion if the enemy is healthy, while the sword will always have its damage boosted by this passive.
