Rogue survivability post patch

im noticing a huge difference in my survivability since the patch. before i was clearing tier 51 pit quite comfortably without dying at all. now im having serious trouble staying alive and even getting flat out one shot. something seems to be wrong with my barrier generation or self healing. it feels like its slower than before. i wasnt having any issues with my build before this patch (poison TB). i even put my health up to nearly 40k tonight when it used to be around 33k and im still struggling even more which doesn’t make sense. i didnt see anything in the patch notes about enemy damage being buffed or our defenses lowered so im wondering whats going on. something definitely isnt right. im loving the damage buffs we got but i cant even stay alive anymore to dish it out. anyone else having this problem?

Barrier generation? Thats probaly one of the issues, majority of Rogue builds dont rely on Barrier.

Its hard to say without seeing your gear or paragon board as thats very important to defenses. My Rogue doesn’t get one shot by Lilliths waves in 120 pit, so Rogues definitely have survival tools.

To start is your Armor at 9300 or higher, is your elemental resistances all capped at 70%. Are you using at least 3 defensive aspects? If so which ones? Did you take at least two resistance nodes on your paragon board that give max lif? Did you put at 125-150% Glyph in your no Witnesses board to maximze the Max Life nodes? How much dodge did you put on your gear?

I had the same result. I’m back down a few pit levels lower than I was and with higher health. Boss killing is taking longer for me and getting killed by who knows what is happening. On the plus side , flurry is more effective. That’s the only thing I’ve seen better.

No, Pits got heavily nerfed. I remember trying my first 100 pit, the boss kept killing me that I ended up abandoning the pit. Finally got it on my second attempt, but it was close.

Now, I can literally face-tank the boss, as well as the mobs leading to it. Pit 100 now feels like Pit 80 before. Pretty much the same build and equipment.

yes all my resistances are capped. armor and elemental. im using temerity hence the barrier gen and 3 defense apsects on my gear. undying, the momentum one and the one that give damage reduction with basic attacks for 7 seconds. all max rolls as well. dodge chance is 30% and my paragon has everything i need for max defense. my defenses are solid thats why i posted this asking about it. like i said i was having zero issues against level 150 enemies just straight tanking most of their attacks before this patch and i know the pit got nerfed too in terms of difficulty thats why im so concerned. im way more squishy than i was before and i even added more health so somethings not adding up. was wondering if there was some sort of bug or something

Your not using Umbrous? that aspect is near mandatory. Umbrous pants is way better than Temerity.

Anyone else noticing that when andys visage procs its doing no damage just the animation?

From what i heard is that it is doing the damage around you still but the animation is not there or something like that. Havnt played myself though.

I’m not using umbrous, I just use the dark shroud skill. It serves it’s purpose, then everything dies and I use the skill to get my shrouds back. There’s definitely a place for it in some builds, but you can eek out more damage if you play accordingly. I’d say the toughest scenarios for me are super fast, unstoppable fire aura or lightning wankers. But that isn’t what usually kills me. What kills me is some jank ability not firing properly, getting caught on some bullcrap terrain with evade that just simply shouldn’t happen or me choosing to fight where that crap is way more likely to happen. If I bait them out and have some space to lay into them, no big deal. And to be fair, with umbrous it would be the same problem, because if you aren’t laying down fire/attacking and landing shots or hits you aren’t getting your shrouds back anyway.

I guess, but Umbrous typically provides a fairly high uptime of the Shrouds in the majority of builds. You can stand in the middle of a pack for a minute and still maintain 3+ Shrouds the entire time, and in place of Temerity would also be giving two Dodge affixes, while also freeing up a skill slot.

But if temerity is working for you, nice. Atm, I havn’t seend any squishyness changes for Rogues though. the only thing I can think of is that DoT and the Chain Lightning Shamans feel like they appear more frequently now and they do a number on Rogues defensively. But atm, I chalk that up to Placebo.

Did many runs today, mobs are easier to kill but hey hit harder with cc and elemental attacks.
Playing TB poison as well / 54K life with potions, still hurts…

no ive never heard of umbrous. I’ll have to look into that. but like ive said my build was iron clad before the patch. no issues surviving at all. i was easily soloing the helltide world boss too. i havent changed anything only added more health once i noticed i was dying more and that didnt help much. somethings definitely off. somethings gotta be bugged

Umbrous with undying and lots of lucky hit so your cc procs and attack/movement speed plus Dash to get out of trouble. I am a middling player and this let’s me do lvl120 fairly comfortably. with 45k health. For the fire Elites it’s just taking them when the are isolated and moving to where the fire isn’t. Same with electric, although those are generally easier. Really, poison is a much greater problem.

I hate it

instead I do the 2 Dodge based aspects

assimilation and I forget the name of the other.

I have 60% Dodge and get a huge heal Everytime I dodge

I never die

yea exactly they hit way harder now. even tho there was nothing about an enemy damage buff in the notes. everything i read was a nerf to make it easier. i feel like its harder now tho. if theyre gonna make the enemies hit harder atleast tell us so we know about it and its intended
