Most defences in game require some seconds of combat to become fully active.
An example using my druid:

  1. My earthen Bulwark procs after 5 seconds.
  2. Fortify needs to build up.
  3. Resolve needs to build up.
  4. Glynn’s anvil needs to build up.
  5. Druids need to shift in bear first to get extra health and damage reduction.
  6. The glyphs that give damage reduction require you to be in a certain form, or require a barrier to be active.

So the game gives us all kind of defences, but can circumvent this by killing us before they become active. This is the reason why people die entering instances, or when riding around in helltide.

Its probably not intentional, but it doesn’t feel fair.

Sidenote: also dont spec into the warplan that spawns Varshan when completing a whisper. Had him spawn while pitpushing. He was way stronger then the boss. Had to bail out of that fight or die.

I just died at the end of a nightmare escalation dungeon after the boss. I had to afk for a sec so checked it was safe. Came back dead. Must of been volcano affix I think.

Why is the dungeon affix still active after you’ve cleared the dungeon?

My character had cleared tower 125 but ends up dying to this crap. Just finished making all my horadric gems. I am beyond pissed off.

This along with getting jumped when you enter pit like you mentioned. Removing the pit bubble as well. They just sh*t on hardcore players with their design.

This happened to me too. I died by bats. BEFORE I get defenses/buffs, I initially start with 50k hp. I also had a lot of damage reduction. However, when I just moved ONCE, I insta died. Really sucks. I hope they do something about this.

I’ve literally died to every single thing you mentioned >.<

Decided to do softcore character after 2 seasons in a row on HC. I’m still PTSD stressed at the end of every dungeon expecting to die while picking up loot. On SC, I have died once to box loot in Helltide when a Prime OFFSCREEN ganked me while engaged by another player. I thought “I wonder how HC server is loving this!” >.<
