Switching to a new computer I needed to download 126GB (!) of game. And you are throttling the download to 10 MB/s. (having a 10Gbit line at home)
Why not allow (opt-in) to distribute game/patches via torrent? Cheaper for you, less load on your servers, faster for many people…
So your internet is slow and that’s blizzards fault……ok I can dig it that’s…well errr….
pretty sure in the Battle.net app settings under downloads, by default the max download speed limit is selected.
make sure you uncheck it to disable the speed limit.
Just uncheck the throttle in the app settings, you can certainly get higher than 10MB/s.
you know that a torrent would require people to seed the game. Why the hell would i seed diablo 4 when i downloaded it?
I’m pretty sure the BNet app does use P2P for faster downloads (it’s enabled by default IIRC, so it would be more like opt-out?).
Some systems block all P2P comms by default, so maybe it’s posible you’re in that situation? (since you mentioned new computer).
Or if not, check the settings like others mentioned (to make sure it’s not config’ed to limit DL speed), contact customer support, etc.
hmm interesting. that could explain why some people are downloading patches etc with kb/s. I never really had that issue.
Antivirus, antimalware, and a likes also like to block P2P
So, before blaming BLi$$, check your system and do some basic downloads tests…
Have you learned to read?! Or comprehend?
I said I have 10Gbit fiber at home (verified via speedtestdotnet) and downloading isos or via torrent I get much more throughput. Noob
….exactly the reaction I was looking for….Thx for playing.
Your 10Gbit fiber line is only as good as your portion of the load on it
Your connection to Blizzard servers is not just reliant on them but also length of route to them, load on it, load on relays between you and them, speed of any of those connections, and packet loss
Your system itself could also be a bottleneck
There’s a lot more to internet communication than “but muh speed is fazt!”
Yet here you are insulting others while clearly not knowing that
Just to chime in here……I was kinda poking him to get angry……like taking candy from a baby really.
That insult made my day …love these forums
There’s sometimes someone that boils in low water…
Yep. That is why I no longer offer advice here. Too many babies not willing to listen and learn.
Working in tech support for years, this is definitely one of the people that argue that their Internet is definitely not down because they have full wifi bars and someone in the home has been watching a Netflix movie with no issues.
2 computers, same behavior. Obviously behind firewall/router. Added battle.net / diablo to firewall exclusion list. If there is a systematic issue then it isn’t obvious.
was worth checking, though.
